Nice fruit tree collection, it's also great to see you have different kinds of tropical trees. I live in Houston, TX and I'm also trying to grow some rare fruit such as Jaboticabas, Pitangatubas, Sapodillas, and Finger Limes just to name a few. Thanks again for tour!

@@socalbackyardorchard3768 you are already growing one, the Surinam Cherry. Your food forest is beautiful, I started one last year in Central Florida, mostly tropicals and subtropicals... I worked almost as hard in the winter as I did in Spring keeping them safe from freezing but I'm happy to say they all lived! Oh and I, too, am growing a Nam Doc Mai - it did the same thing as yours. But I found that if I cut off the flowers below the bracts, it puts that energy into growth instead of trying to produce fruits at such a young age. Some would argue to let nature do what's natural but we have to consider that we broke that rule through grafting - which is why it's trying to fruit. I believe the tree thinks it's more mature than it actually is 😊 I know it's hard to cut off the flowers but it's worth the sacrifice for strong new growth! I'm a new subscriber and enjoying your channel very much, thanks for all the hard work!

I have been giving a lot of thought about how well everything is looking from all the rain this yr.Any one who has lived in SoCal long knows it was very rare. My questions are should we be watering more in winter? Or was it the rain water and it’s supply of nitrogen and other natural benefits that helped the plants and trees so much? I have bushes that have been more or less just existing but this yr they have pushed a ton of new growth and look wonderful. Any thoughts on how we can duplicate nature and get explosive growth right when temps break? Cheers yard is looking fabulous. Cheers

So Cal backyard Orchard sounds good look forward to what you come up with I’m going to ask around and look for some old information about it. I have heard mimicking rain drops with hose or sprinklers can help with oxygen and you would think humidity which is helpful out here where I’m at. Cheers
