Paul, your project has given me faith in the open source world, many years ago. I'm 62, been using Ardour since 64studio. I sent money a long time ago, but once I get my Paypal figured out, you'll be hearing from me... "MOST EXCELLENT...I'M NOT WORTHY!... Tell the team I love y'all more!

Hey Paul! I've been working with Ardour for almost a year now and I've been appreciating all the quality-of-life updates and the increase in support from the community. This new feature is going to make Ardour's automation feature even more convenient, which I appreciate. Keep up the good work, I cant wait to renew my subscription and continue support for this awesome software.

Would love for you do a video on screen layout, including multiple monitor setup. And how to manage many tracks and see them on the meter ridge. Can’t seem to be able to monitor lots of tracks simultaneously. For instance I’d like to hide tracks on the meter ridge but I can’t.

Here is a rookie question: Can you automate the tempo in Ardour? For example if I want to have a song that speeds up or slows down during certain measures?
@carlkolthoff5402

Yes you can. Right click the tempo lane above the sequencer tracks, hit "new tempo". There you can choose meter, if it's a constant tempo or a start and finish tempo with a linear change in between. One cool feature is that you can drag the bar lines if you hold shift and click the tempo lane. Very useful if you've got a live recording that you want to add some gridded midi to or just analyze.

Is there any way to make the points curved though?? -That's kind of a big one...
@ardourdaw
Жыл бұрын
There's no way to do this currently. Robin explained why a while back: discourse.ardour.org/t/automation-curves-part-ii/107405/2 TL;DR: Using splines in automation is a bit of a lie: it seems convenient but it's a misrepresentation of what is actually going on. It's possible Ardour will have splines in the future where this makes sense.

@@ardourdaw Hey, thanks for getting back to me! I'll watch the video! Thanks! And yeah, since this comment, I've realized I can do without the changing the curve of the points themselves. Thanks.
