Praise God, I loved hearing our dear brothers testimony it is unfortunate how much emotional abuse is active within churches, not even specifically the independent fundamental, but we hear this a lot, especially the past week we must be in prayer that the nonnegotiable true followers of Jesus Christ our brothers who have been saved by our Trinitarian absolute incident pure, and holy, God would leave these damaging situations made by God‘s providence this come to pass- I left an SBC church in KY due to a very similar situation as to getting no answers why they would not teach the whole council of God and let the text speak for itself. God brought me to a wonderful God glorify Tori church where it is a lesson oh what a gift it is to be a part of, thank you for sharing your path to Presbyterian much love to you brothers

Though I am of the position of images of Christ is forbidden, I believe the commandment is referring to the active worship of the image and/or utilizing it as a mean of connecting to God.

Could I ask what would be your case for images? More of a Regulative principle thing where they're not provided?

I got kicked out and blocked in a large reformed facebook group for kindly suggesting they go private when they took away the anonymous feature. They are brutal.

Just found this video. I have a family painting of mother Mary and baby Jesus hanging on one wall, and the painting from The Chosen after Jesus redeemed Mary Magdalen on the other. Neither of them do I pray to. They are both meaningful to me in different ways. Also, I wanted to address the comment made about Jonathan. He is always very careful to remind people when they meet him that he isn't Jesus. He has spoken about it both in interviews as well as his documentary. Really enjoyed the discussion!

Remember: the serpent on the pole issue and how Jesus refers to it AS an issue of understanding ETERNAL life. Also, there are artworks of the ram caught in the thicket by his horns which I believe is a direct prophecy of Jesus as God himself being the sacrifice for replacing Isaac and fulfilling Abraham for his obedience and faith. “God shall provide HIMSELF”!!! Just don’t WORSHIP the image.

To those who think images of Christ are permissible, even if you are correct, what is the point of doing so? Why do it?

Every Iconoclast I've met would be angered by a statue or image of Jesus Christ, but would totally be fine with statues to Mickey Mouse or some other corporate idol. Fill your house with images that remind you of who you belong to and dont make room for the devil. This is exactly why the Jews built statues of angels for the temple and why you see images of Jesus, Mary and the Saints going back to the first century.

I guess you all have no control over yourself if you had a picture or statute in front of you! Really this is absurd!!

Here is something that could really bake your noodle if you think of it too long. Is theology a 1st/2nd commandment violation. I hear people all the time that quote John Calvin or John Wesley more than John the Apostle. I realize that this was a problem as early as the Pauline Epistles, but if we are going to get pedantic about things...
