This was SUCH a good video!! I don't know why the youtube algorithm brought this video to me, but as a magazine loving gen Z I am so glad it did.

Thank you so much, I'm glad the algorithm worked in my favor! And thank y'all Gen Zers for bringing the Zine back from extinction.

I wonder if there is any correlation with the comeback of traditional magezines and the rising popularity of indepentently created Zines

These days the only magazines I collect are Korean editions of major fashion publications (Elle Korea, GQ Korea, etc) that feature my favorite Kpop group. The thing is, while I can't read Korean, I enjoy oogling all the beautifully photographed fashion spreads and lux ads. All through my teens and 20s I collected Vogue, and later, the British editions of Vogue, Elle, and Bazaar.

My husband rags on me because I'm fully living in the past 😂 I still buy VHS tapes, DVDs, vinyl. I'm picky about what I buy, but there is nothing like physical media. And you know not paying a fee on top of my subscription fee to "digitally rent" a movie 😒 Thank you for video 💕

Thank you for the comment, and I am totally with you. I have been buying so many dvds and even some vhs tapes at Goodwill and estate sales, and now buying cds/vinyls again like I'm a teen. People will be begging us for our physical libraries when they have NOTHING after the streaming wars! lol ;p

@@montanastateofmind I've gotten good movie suggestions from the trailers 😂 so physical movies never let me down

Its good physical media have a come back i think people realize how fragile memory of things are, a movie can be removed from a streaming service forever and if nobody saved it for others to pirate it it will be lost to time. Magazines even "trivial" ones are important, they contain current knowledge and info usually as it is in reality, but if its fake its also a very intresting bit of history. Same propaganda, people still think people in victorian era had surgeries removing their ribs while people barely started washing their hands and disinfect their tools. Memory is important. Seeing objectively thin women in magazines from 2000s being fatshamed shows us how people used to be treated etc. Im kinda rambling here sorry

Hey my whole channel is built on the art of rambling. I appreciate your insight and completely agree. If we don't preserve history, even trivial little magazines, then we won't know what life was truly like back then.
