I’m from the U.S. I live in Texas. You can buy your vehicle either automatic or standard (Stick shift). Some automotive dealers, like Hyundai, offer both in the same vehicle. It has been historically accurate that buying a stick is usually is cheaper. I haven’t bought a vehicle in a hot ass minute, but the price difference was several thousand dollars. When I bought my first brand new car, a 2001 VW Beetle, I saved $5,500 buying a stick. I’ve bought only automatics since then because it was so much more convenient. I was terrified I’d roll back into someone. So to reduce my stress due to driving, and also to quell my road rage, I buy automatics. But I can drive a standard, or stick. The renovation is coming along nicely. If baby Sunny had waited a bit longer I have no doubt that your house would have been 98% done. I love that you refer to it as Bob the Builder stuff. Both of my sons were so obsessed with Bob The Builder when they were little. It felt like just yesterday that they loved Bob The Builder, Bear in the Big Blue House, Thomas the Tank and his friends and now they’re grown ups that work at Amazon. 😢….i’m not crying. No I’m not crying. I have horrible allergies. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

But back when my husband and I got married in 1999 we couldn’t afford a new car if it was an automatic. You could also buy a brand new car for less than 10k. Oh sweet Jesus I’m old!!! It’s really the younger generations in the US that don’t have manuals. It’s because they’ve basically stopped producing them and the majority of new vehicles are automatics. I learned to drive with a manual and most of my vehicles were manuals. But now that we have 9 children, we drive a huge, 15 passenger van, so that is an automatic!

If you have a free wall in the laundry room, you could do one of those nice wooden “fold down” laundry racks to match the cabinet fronts you described? I’m not sure if they have a name, but they are basically a wooden frame that can be any size you like, with wooden rungs (or rope) for hanging laundry that just sit against the wall when not in use, and then they “fold out” at a diagonal to give a generous amount of hanging space. They can look quite nice if done in some nice material. And space saving! I noticed you had quite a few of those metal drying racks in the old laundry setup… Anyways, loving the renovations so far, things are finally taking shape and the final vision is starting to come alive! Love to see it 😊

there are some things i learned while rennovating. 1. - cleaning the walls is only needet if there where counters in front of it for years or visible cobwebs or somethig - swiffer (not the wet thingy) but in a normally cleaned house its rlly not needed. 2. - idk if u could have done this - but we always declutter if we clean out a room. idk where all this stuff always comes from xD 3. - rest is sooo important (sleeping AND eating) i cant count how i often i got exhausted bcs i hyperfocused, got everything done and forgot to eat and drink for HOURS 4. - sometimes you need a nerve to build ikea xD 5. - dont rush it (great that u got it done soo quickly) i also know how it feels like if it takes like weeks to get a room done 6. - get help - like u did 7. -if u r a person who needs to see process to continue: do the rooms one by one 8. - final touches feel so gooooood idk maybe someone will need one or two of thoose tips ^^

Plus you can save gas.😊 I am from Germany and most people started driving automatic. Especially of course with the electric cars. And I am not so convinced that the e-cars are a better solution to our planet. They need more work done with the batteries. And if the day comes that I can afford an e-car that is better for the planet, then I am gonna miss the stick very very much. Also, Camilla maybe you noticed...in big cities with much traffic...a stick is not so nice. Rolling around in the 1st and 2nd gear for 10 minutes..🙈 makes me cry for the engine

20:52 as somebody who works in a paint department selling and mixing paint, the reason you are supposed to clean walls or literally anything is just to get a smooth application + ensure it sticks. Say if you’re using primer and you haven’t cleaned, any dirt disrupts the paint. It’s kind of similar to how you have to sand glossy surfaces because the paint must adhere. If your walls are generally clean you’ll be fine, but just be careful in some aspects. If there’s dirt under the paint it can cause peeling or bubbling etc etc. Since you’re literally doing everything rn it’s most likely never gonna have an impact, but always know why you’re skipping a step just in case!
