Nice place to fly but potentially hard landings ;) Suggest using zip ties through the bobbins but don't overtighten them as you'll get jello. I had the same issue when the bobbins popped on my Armattan FPV V2 Tilt quad (same base design as the hex). It was a pain in the backside to reassemble! My setup is on my channel, also using an L9R Rx. Chris at Armattan sent me the prototype integrated PCB for testing so hooked up a MinimOSD to the Naze. I guess that was state of the art at the time! LOL! Still have mine but it's been sat on the shelf for a while. Need to dig it out as it's a nice 4s cruiser compared to TBS Discovery with gimbal, plus it takes decent footage . Tempted to buy the hex as there's a used frame for sale on a UK facebook page. Like the red carbon ... was it a special edition?

the zip ties are an outstanding idea! and i really appreciate it. i've used gimbal anti-drop pins (ok solution), and later m4 nylon bolt / nut / washers to much better success w/thread locker to prevent nuts from moving (perfect solution). YES, it was a major PITA to disassemble / reassemble the whole bird to repair bobbins before. i have since built a 2nd tilt hex, using integrated PCB too. that is cool that you've built them and flew them too. yes, i asked Chris to do them in Red, and he even included a full 1/2 set of spare arms in red. haven't needed it, but a very cool gesture. i put in Spider's / Trainboy's custom mix (CLI) on the new one and it is a lightweight rocket. my last crash (brutal) took out my FC on the Red one, so it has sat a while. i use butterfly nylock nuts, with bolts on the arms so i can still break them down and tote them in backpack to remote locations easy. i have lots of plans (gimbal, other builds too), and have 2-3 extra frames for when i destroy ones i got. happy flying man!

You're welcome. I used 3mm wide zip ties as they just about fit. It may save a few grams over nuts as well? Nice of Chris to give you that red option. He's been great to deal with during my Armattan builds (FPV V2 Tilt, Tilt-R, F1-6, Morphite 180 & 2 Chameleons). Despte using the integrated PCBs the Tilt-R was way more complicated than the FPV V2 Tilt because of the tubular arms and limited space ... but it's like a tank. Today's builds are way easier with the AIO FCs with OSD & PCBs. I think I have a copy of Spider's custom mix for a Grasshopper Hex build (still yet to try it though) and got help with PIDs from Skull333 on both builds. Most of my footage is cruising on the Scottish moors but I've not been flying much lately as I moved back to live in Wales. If I get that hex frame I'll keep you posted. Cheers!

Perfect landing can't do better then that without being in control ...

this crash was caused by a bad revolectix lipo. unfortunately, this caused a chain reaction of other issue, as this crash (and the 2 others that day) caused some critical auto-leveling in the full naze32 to go bad. it only got worse. subsequent crashes required motor replacements, ESC changes, and ultimately fixed it by swapping out the Naze32. this 'hex', was truly hexed. :)

i still am not positive what caused the crash. all electronics look solid. one motor was binding. i think some balancing weights broke off, and jammed in between the bell and magnets. after servicing the motor, it is still audibly noisy, but functional, and i have not had an issue in limited testing since.

So what went wrong? My first crash was do to an arm folding in in flight I didn't reef the screw down with pliers like Chris told me to LoL live & learn... Olson to the creators they know a thing or to about the model...
