It's only after watching this scene so many number of times that I remembered to notice that the mother started the conversation with "I want us to go out". It is that captivating. And then when she ends it with the same sentence, the feeling of mother being there for her daughter is extra enjoyable. The actress playing the mother did a splendid job too.

I’m 43. I’ve never been in a relationship, in love. Much of my younger years, when all my peers were in college and building their lives, I was in isolation battling cancer and Bipolar. The treatment, alongside the emotional and psychological aspects, encompassed all my twenties and thirties. I was simply fighting to breath. I recently had my first stroke, caused by past treatment (radiation). This scene tears me up as I relate a lot with it. I don’t think there’s hope to find that someone. Everyone has kids or is at a relational stage I don’t understand and have no experience with. Everything somehow moved in the wrong direction. I also find myself giving couples dirty looks. I just don’t know how to proceed.
