I met Mr. Massimino several years ago when I was just 15 or 16. Seriously one of the coolest and down to earth (pun intended) people I’ve ever met. Very kind. Love to share stories about it to a kid who couldn’t hear enough about space. A day I’ll never forget.

😸i can. i have a friend like this. she's not much of a philosopher, so when i was passionately describing my theories concerning space based on logic and personal knowledge answering her question, she asked something like /i tried hard to imagine what it was but couldn't remember nor think of something. it's really a talent to say such a thing/😸 all my ardor went right through walls in haste😹like waaaat did you understand any of stuff i just said 🙈✨

Mass is a walking astronaut legend. After watching him on KZitem, I read his book, and it’s an amazing read that really lets you know a little bit about what it’s like to be and astronaut, someone who spacewalked out at the Hubble twice. And the courage and determination to do so

9:07 When I visited Johnson's Space Center near Houston astronaut (sorry can't remember the name) told something very interesting - we already have engines capable of flying to Mars in reasonable time, the problem is slowing down... They will never achieve 100% speed until they need to revert thrust to break. So... achieving speed is one thing and is fairly easy. Stopping near your target is something completely different and much more complicated.

The sad reality is that there is just not enough demand or need. It is incredibly expensive and there isn't that much to research on there for now. Don't worry though, there is quite a large moon mission scheduled for 2024

I love this man so much. When i was in 7th grade and part of my school's Lego Robotics team, the mission for that year was problems in space. We were researching osteoporosis (bone deterioration) in space and the long term effects of it. Along with programming the robot for the missions, we also had to create a research project and provide solid evidence. We were lucky to meet Jeff Bezos (i forgot why lmao) and we also reached out to Mike! He not only provided a small account but he sent us a lovely picture of him he generously autographed. Best guy. Uncle/grandpa vibes all the way :))

I remember Astronaut Hadfield did an interview about some of his trips into space. He also reported a burnt smell, if I remember correctly he said something like burnt steak. Are there vaporized metals in ultra high atmospheric areas, or perhaps something that we are perceiving as a metallic odor? Outer space is teasing us with smells that we can't directly experience :(
