Why are so many parents afraid to discipline their children? Discipline is the answer for a moral upstanding kid. This girl is horrendous. My word
@plateshutoverlock
Жыл бұрын
Because the same CPS that for some reason allow kids to rot in filthy dog cages under deranged parents for years on end but will take away a kid from normal parents on some of the flimsiest of pretexts. This is what our tax dollars go to folks, micromanaging normal parents to the point they can't really discipline their own kids.

That's why the hardline is drawn when they're little. So you don't have to give your child a criminal record to stop the behavior.
@salahmed1890

Unfortunately a criminal record is not the answer neither. Because in today's world, especially with the pandemic, a criminal record will disqualify you from a lot of things, even something as basic as an apartment nowadays. When you served your time it's not over. Your criminal record will always be used against you and you're in competition with people who don't have a record. So yes I support the father's decision of not Prosecuting his own daughter. The real problem is our elected officials who say that it is a crime to discipline our kids because it's child abuse. Making your child feel uncomfortable because you are punishing them and holding them accountable is not child abuse. Smashing your kids face into a bloody pulp is child abuse! But parents are not allowed to do corporal punishment but I would rather spank my kids and ground them and let them know their behavior is not acceptable before I would ever press charges. He knows that her future is ruined and I think dr. Phil's tough love is a bit over-the-top

If they don't get government assistance and they don't reoffend, they wind up on the streets and then we complain about seeing homeless people everywhere. My three kids turned out great! My (now late) husband told them, before they ever turned into teenagers, that we would not bail them out of jail, pay for damages, or give any sympathy for what had happened. Each one would stand before the judge on their own. We would also call the police to report any vehicle "borrowed" as stolen and let everyone involved get arrested. He was scary and played his former USMC drill sargent voice to tell them all this. I am so glad he was on my side.

Ummmm……..I can definitely judge them because the Bible says, “You will know them by their fruit”. Well, Madison and the other daughter ARE THEIR FRUIT. Seems like Dr. Phil is judging them too. Look, they’re wrong. They screwed up. And they are admitting it too. I would’ve filed charges on my kid for stealing the car and I WOULDN’T have picked her up either. My son knew that if he got arrested, he’d be sitting in that jail because he obviously would be in need of a time out…….well, that iron door shutting behind them is an amazing time out. And……I see daily the other side of this. I worked in Probation for years and now work for the prison system. Parents just like them have filled our prison units to capacity. Stop giving in to your children! Stop being terrified to say no to them! You’re not their friend, you’re their Parent……..SO PARENT THEM. They’re begging for it.

If a father is afraid of his daughter who is deliberately disobeying him and his wife and being abusive, why don’t you just kick her out of the house?
@ErinJeanette

This is a very simple question. Why do you think? Where would she go? She's fifteen, it's child abandonment to kick a child out of the house. Plus she'd be in danger. The other option is a hospital which is super expensive or a foster home which is dangerous. They want to take care of and help their child. Duh.

I once got stuck in an apartment where I have a contract for 6 months with a housemate that tried to record me taking a bath and went to my room while I was sleeping or when I was out in a shower (we are both male). I was scared shitless for 6 months. Had to block my door with something, change the door knob with the one with lock (interestingly the apartment bedrooms do not have a lock) and I had to go to a counseling service for that. So I can relate when I saw the father barricading the door.
