That was a particularly hard to detour. Usually there is plenty of room on one side or the other. I might have taken it a bit too fast, to be honest.

Railroad gate drop instantly in New Mexico. It’s because a lot of Trains vs cars are because of drunk drivers. And New Mexico is in the top 10. They have something called a drop gate. When I train passes a sensor the clamp holding the gate up let’s go and they slam down. And then use a small amount of energy to lift them.

That track crossing was messed up. No warning, and that much damage. I'd have been mad, can't fix cargo. Rest is every 14 hours for 10 hours of sleep in ATS, In real life its 14 hours of on duty but only 11 hours of driving and requires 30 minutes after 8 hours of driving and 10 hour break after 11 hours of driving. Good job on parking the harvester. Blessings

Thats cool about the placarded trailer, they actually got the correct hazmat un placard number 3374. And in real life when hauling any placarded hazmat you have to stop at all railroad crossings. And you were asking about the sleep time in the game, my computer at the moment is not connected but looking at your video it was about 10 hours from when you cut the video off and came back in the morning. And in real life trucking you are allowed 14 hours on duty not driving, in those 14 hours you can drive for 11 hours, and you have to take a 10 hour break either off duty or in sleeper if you have a sleeper, otherwise if you get caught by a officer claiming sleeper berth time without having a sleeper on a truck that is a ticket. Also you can split your sleeper berth time, the most common one I heard is 2 and 8. You can park somewhere to avoid traffic for 2 hours, go down the road and take 8 hour break if you are in a hurry to make that delivery. I hated doing that. It makes your hours hard to keep track of even with a electronic logging device. I just would park it for about 10 hours and hit the road after that with full hours for that day.
@ZillaBlitzPC

That's a ton of great info on the sleeping hours. So trucks have GPS route/time tracking that police officers can request to look at?
@JollyRoger1718
Жыл бұрын
@@ZillaBlitzPC most of the truckers now a days are required to have a electronic logging device or ELD for short. On there you could see all the hours, off duty, on duty not driving, on duty driving, and sleeper, and the 60 or 70 hours left for that week. I said 60 or 70 depends on what kind of day rotation a company choose , most companies pick 8 day 70 hour rotation, but 7 day 60 hour rotation is also available, but the 8/70 is the best cause if you run hard you’ll use up the 70 in 5 or 6 days easily. And then to get the hours back you have to take 34 hours off either in sleeper mode or off duty.

Ha! Train Gods revenge! To be fair, that seemed VERY buggy; NO WAY that should have happened in two senses: there was no real delay between the lights starting to flash and the arms coming down, really. (So not you fault!) And two, given that you take out signs and fences, etc. the arms should be easy to break with no real damage to the truck. But then they would have to be more careful with the train position to see if it actually hits you. (Seems like you woulda just cleared before the train got there if you had been allowed to barrel through.) I wonder if you had looked left if you could have seen the train? Might be the only way to protect yourself from this sort of deal going forward... ~~~ Awww, I wish you WOULDA taken that detour--wanted to see how it recalculated your route on that massive interchange! ;-p ~~~ Then the game must have AI in it--it's learned you disregard detours, so it's making them harder; in the next one or the one after that it'll literally be a brick wall in front of you when you try and use the original 'closed' route anyway! ~~~ Good to know direction arrows on the ground in the gas station are optional!

Yeah, I get why they have to make those train crossing gates impenetrable, and I do wonder if I could have anticipated it by looking. But I've never had it happen in 300+ hours of ETS2 and ATS. Might just have to take our chances.

Black truck, black tank trailer, this run screams "Convoy" to me. Too bad its not a Mack Anthem or the original Mack R-series truck (complete with the "rubber ducky" hood ornament). That interchange fine... you could have avoided that by simply avoiding that accident site and look for an alternative route. It'll be a longer journey, but you will have no fines in the end. As to the rail crossing doing the guillotine on you, rule of thumb is when hauling hazardous materials, approach rail crossings, very, very carefully. Do the procedure school bus drivers use: shut down the engine for a minute or two (to listen to the locomotive' horns blaring), then look left and right.
@ZillaBlitzPC

Ha! I did think the black truck and the black trailer looked really cool. to be fair. Yes, while the detours might be the logical choice, I kind of like the challenge of making it through them. Usually we come through unscathed. :) And that's interesting on the expected behavior with hazardous materials, thanks!

I don't know how to sleeping/driving rules are in the US but in Europe (or atleast in Finland they are following: Max driving per day 9 hours (can be extended to 10 hours twice in a week) Min sleeping time before your drive time is reset to 0 is 11 hours (can be shortened to 9 hours 3 times in a week) Max 4,5 hours drive without break. After that atleast 45 mins rest. Can also be divided as 15 + 30 minutes separately. Max driving time per week is 56 hours BUT in course of 2 weeks max total time is 90 hours. So 56 hours in week 1 and 34 hours on week 2. Minimum "week rest" as we call it is 45 hours but can be shortened to 24 hours in every other week. After that rest is complete you can start new week from 0.

I usually slow down coming up to crossings for that reason. In real life the lights are required to flash for 5 seconds before the arms come down, which those definitely didn't. I've seen crossings where if you're too close the barriers just stay up and you have to back up a bit to make them come down (or just drive through the crossing), so you apparently weren't close enough for the game to decide you made it through. It's probably programmed by crossing rather than being the same for every one and that particular crossing has a really short run-up zone.

It's odd as well because I've never had it happen before. We must have been in some weird border zone where the game couldn't decide where our truck was. Possible it's a new bug?
