Aboriginal concepts connecting people to 'Country' and living things through a web of relationships have a lot in common with the English term 'biodiversity'. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a unique perspective on Australia's biodiversity and its management, which stems from their long-term observations, sustained residence and oral histories.
