Thank you so much for this informative, fact based video. I've rheumatoid arthritis and Humira and leflunomide transitioning to get rid of Humira and experience a lot of her loss, but I've been taking Nutrafol, 3 capsules daily for the last 5 months and my dramatical hairloss stopped or it reduced the amount. I do not feel growth though. Hope you could talk more about this. Take care and thank you again Dr.

I just started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. I don’t know if it will cause hair to regrow, although many have claimed it does. I use it because my hair has never been in such great condition or looked as good. It’s so soft but it’s not flat. It’s very full looking and if my hair never grows back, I can live with the way it looks now thanks to these products.

Hi there ❤ cosmetologist here. Nioxin can* work, depending on medications you’re using (liked mentioned in this video, that can contribute to hair loss), but the issue with Nioxin- is you have to continually use it for it to be effective. Once stopping use, the hair growth stops. And goes back to what it was previously. Bosley products are another great option to look into, if you decide you want something that’s more long term beneficial, more affordable; and continues to work if you’ve used consistently- and say for whatever reason, finances or otherwise, need to stop abruptly- without having all your hard work be stopped once stopping using it. Bosley products are made by the same company that does hair transplants. So they are more effective from what I’ve seen over about 20 years of doing hair. I love the nioxin line for helping with thickening products for clients though too ❤ just thought I’d share.

Prior to being diagnosed with Sjogren's and starting DMARDs my hair stylist noticed my hairline was receding. I'd also noticed I seemed to be losing more hair than usual. Once I'd been on hydroxychloroquine for several months the hair loss resolved. I am now on hydroxychloroquine and Leflunomide. I have not noticed any increase in hair loss thus far. I think keeping systemic inflammation down has been key.

@@rheumatologistoncall hair loss was the least of my concerns. Slowing disease progression and the damage caused by chronic inflammation are why I opted for DMARDs. Thank you for videos!

I’ve heard rosemary oil combined with a carrier oil can help. Not for sure if this is true or effective though. Trying to get ideas in my arsenal for if I start having hair clumps falling out from methotrexate. Bosley products are effective longterm and more affordable than many other product brands from salons. So I will be getting Bosley for myself (cosmetologist here) if it starts falling out ❤ And fish oil (liquid *flavored available- form from natural stores) has helped clients over the year with both thin hair and hair falling out due to autoimmune related issues. Not for sure what all is in the fish oil supplement to aid in this. Thanks for a great video as always. Appreciate you!

Thank you so much. I think I'll try rogaine finally. Hopefully it won't make me itchy. I've resorted to using wigs for work but they do get very hot in the summer. Hard to keep on my head with my kind of hair. Even with a cap. My hair is half of what it use to be. Grandma has the same illness but better hair that I do at my age. I also lose so much hair. Another reason why I wear a wig. I cannot risk hair getting into food at work.
