[Autumn Wind] Four autumns, three generations of Hakka women
"Life is like dried persimmon. Sweetness only comes after bitterness."
Autumn, 1969. Ming-chu's mother is evicted from home for falling in love with a Mainlander-Taiwanese man. In panic, Ming-chu and her mom speed away on a bicycle. 40 years later, the bedridden older woman can't stop thinking about the persimmons ripe for harvest back home in Beipu. Ming-chu, eagerly awaiting the homecoming of her daughter from abroad, discovers Hsiao-tung returns with a blond girlfriend at her side...
Four autumns, four separations. No matter how helpless or dismayed, these Hakka women search for their own versions of happiness.
