It has been greenlit for seasons 2 and 3. There's a cool video of Daniel Dae Kim pranking the rest of the cast.

The ending battle with the kaiju ocean spirit monster looks fantastic. You can tell a lot of the vfx budget went into making it as good as it was.

"Water is the element of change". I think Aang saying that he is finally able to let go of the past to have a future is a sign that he is embracing change, and therefore will be able to waterbend? Just my thought.

I never expected the Netflix show to match the original show in quality, but my wife and I enjoyed it. It was fun and we’ll see what critiques they take in for the next two seasons.

Thank you for keeping an open mind with this show, it’s refreshing! So many haters, so many reactors who didn’t like and couldn’t even finish it….. I don’t get it. I see the care and respect to the original too, and appreciate for the most part what they’ve done. I think they’ll all grow and get better as the seasons go, I can’t wait!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Yes, things were changed from the animated series but that had to happen. And of course it was better than the movie just by pronouncing the names correctly

Keep in mind, Korra actually did NOT retcon how bending was established. Lion turtles gave humans the power to manipulate the four elements, but the badger moles, sky bison, dragons, and ocean and moon spirits taught people how to master them. Essentially, lion turtles gave the power to throw a punch. The four taught how to turn a basic punch into karate/tai chi/kung fu/etc.

I kinda wish they kept the line from the Northern chief when Sokka says he must be proud of Yue and her selflessness. "So proud... and sad." It's a simple line, but I've always loved it because it shows how complex our feelings can be when it comes to love and loss.

Not too worried Aang hasn't started learning waterbending. He was still learning it even after Toph started teaching him earthbending. I really hope they do that episode where Sokka got stuck in the hole.

22:10 Not only did the sage light the comet on fire for extra effect, but they also must have had a fan blowing in the room to get the flames to move sideways like that. One thing we know about Ozai is that he likes dramatic effects

Ive heard several reactors compare the total screen time between the animation and live action, which is a very interesting point. I still think with equal run times, it would be impossible to have all of the stories build and resolve in 8 episodes. Having three story arcs for each episode would have made the pacing impossibly fast. So glad the actors are improving. Looking forward to season two!

This is exactly why run time is a moot point considering they are two very different media

Interesting,, Sokka's Moon girl was born without a complete soul, fans have stipulated that had Aang lived out his life as he was supposed to, she would have been the next Avatar. Think about it, the next Avatar cycle was gonna be a Water bender.

I kinda prefer this version for the evolution of Pakku - instead of it hinging on a random notice of a necklace, it was an acknowledgement of Katara's ability and drive.

Actually Sokka was wearing traditional Kyoshi uniform by the time he managed to trip Suki up when training and he was still wearing it during the fight. No makeup though. They just didn't make a big deal about it. Possibly because of time restraints.

They removed the goofy elements, both because they typically don't work in live action and to retain that part of the animated show's identity.

Also, I thought all the women assembled standing there for Katara’s speech was super cheesy too, they were even in perfect formation, no one speaking. So cringe lol
