Tranquil music and a soothing flowing river flight. The Avon River flows from Lake Yearling, through the Western Australian Wheat Belt for around 240 kilometres before joining the Swan River at Wooroloo Brook.
These waterways today make up the Avon River Basin. Ballardong Noongar people knew them as Gogulgar.
Between the towns on Northam and Toodyay in the Avon Valley is the small hamlet of Katrine, where the river meanders between some low hills before heading west towards the coast and eventually flowing out in to the Indian Ocean as the Sawn River.
Drone footage taken during higher than average rain fall in August 2022.
