I was at Legend MM for this performance. The crowd cheered the way they did because Yava! is a fan favourite song that they don't play live very often any more, so it was a special treat to see them perform it. I was hyped beyond belief because Yava! is my favourite Babymetal song.

Nice reaction, thanks! "YAVA!" (yes it's from "yaba" or "yabai") means "dangerous" or "awful" but here is used more like the expression "Oh, no!". It's one of my favorite songs and I really enjoy the mix of ska with metal... not to mention that magnificent breakdown. This version from Legend-MM had an intro by the Kami Band where each musician played a solo (cut out in this video). It's one of their most loved songs but unfortunately, they don't play it very often lately. So, we went from the initial surprise when we heard the first notes of the intro to the absolute madness. 🤘🦊

Nice! The song title, Yava! is pronounced correctly, but it actually means "Oh no!". The lyrics are about "finding something different", and "not knowing what to do/what to think about it", "oh no!". In my opinion, this is Babymetal's funny jab at haters who can't accept them because they are different vs "classic" heavy metal. And of course, they would do this with Ska-metal, LOL. 🤘🦊

_"Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii"_ 🦊🤘🔥 Welcome back to the Foxhole. This is a song from Metal Resistance 2016 album and era when YuiMetal was still part of the group. YAVA! (actually Yabai!, It's a contraction) means like "oh no!" or when describing something dangerous or surprising, that's the facial expression you can see on the girls. They're fusing ska genre and metal in a way no one did before, the cuteness and charming of these girls is unmatchable. The Kami Band intro in this one is super fun, unfortunately they cut it off from here, so you will need to get the DVD/BD of this show or get a live compilation around. Until 2017 the East Kami Band played the intro, they played the song a few more times but without the intro, now this is the first time West Kami Band is playing it along with the intro. Also after YuiMetal left the group the new avengers system was the backing dancers but only Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihira were the ones selected to perform this song, and last March at Legend MM celebrating MomoMetal's 21 birthday in Yokohama Arena it was Momo-chan first time performing YAVA! "Chigau" in the lyrics is the temporary title fans gave to this song when they did the live premiere without knowing the song, the word means "different" and totally fits with the meaning of the lyrics, this could be a song talking about them, you know, the surprise factor of being different. You can enjoy the Kami Band intro version as well the original trio performing with the live at Fox Festival 2017. Next suggestion to have some more fun and with another Kami Band intro: - Awadama Fever with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017. See you next time!🦊🤘 🔥

First time I've seen one of your reactions to Babymetal-though I will be going back now to hear your others. That was such an honest, emotional, informed reaction. Top tier. Worthy of this performance. One of the things that blows my mind-I mean as always-but how clean, clear and beautiful the vocals are. And then the instrumentals are just so f'ing gnarly. Maybe it's just me but I think the Kami Band is also growing and maturing. Just like the ladies. The instrumentals here and in new release of Syncopation are just insane.

Thank you for commenting! I think "Yava" is my favorite at the moment. Some people just want to criticize stuff. They only want to push what "they" are thinking onto other people. Yava is the slang or "shortened" version of Yabai. It is an exclamation. It does NOT mean amazing. It is more of an "Oh No!" or "Oh Shit!" type of exclamation. It was originally named Chigaou (Japanese for "different") because it was a repeated word in the song. The song is ACTUALLY a song about Babymetal haters turning into Babymetal lovers. The premise is: Metal elitist hear BM for the first time. They say they shouldn't like it but they do. It's too different (Chigaou). They shouldn't like it but they do! Oh no! (Yava) I think I like it! That is basically what the song is about. It's one of my favorites for two reasons. The premise of the lyrics, and the ska feel throughout. Catchy AF!

@@reylynx I'm so glad that you asked! They just uploaded a proshot video on their channel for the song "Syncopation" which was only on the Japanese version of the album Metal Resistance. Another under-reacted song is "Kagerou", BUT the song that I think you will really enjoy as a producer and has only been performed live once is "Tales of the Destinies" live at the Tokyo Dome. It is a prog metal song that was inspired by Dream Theater and is actually the first half of 2 songs that were originally meant to be 1 long song...the 2nd song being "The One", which has a more classic heavy rock ballad feel to it. I suggest reacting to both songs back to back in one sitting and then making 2 reaction videos out of it....this is so you get the full experience.

Japanese sound engineers are really different. If you watch the most popular Japanese artists' concerts, you'll find them all sounded great and different from the West. For example, I attended to Michael Jackson's concert 30 years ago and watched Taylor Swift concert on KZitem, they all sounded similar to me. Perhaps it's because of the ways of understanding and interpretation to music and sound are different between Western and Japanese engineers.
