Really interesting insight into Back to the Future, I didn't know a lot of that. Zemeckis really is one of the un-sung visionary directors of the last few decades. Although his venture into facial capture and motion capture for Polar express - A Christmas Carol was a little misguided. Unfortunately they never really managed to break the uncanny valley, while other films using better techniques proved this could be done even before the polar express was released.

Ironically, I think this works against what Captain D would want. Love with your heart, use your head for everything else. Do not let your heart guide you into marking this as a good video before you've watched it. Retain the mind of a skeptic - watch, decide whether you like it or not based on its own merits, and like or not based upon that. I believe that a valid, non-toxic criticism means more to Captain D than a thousand unmerited likes ever could.

@FakeMoonRocks
5 жыл бұрын
@cmichaelson1 Nothing's been debunked except every single piece of so-called "evidence" that you think proves men have been to the Moon. Leaving Russia aside for a moment, Japan, China and India have all sent probes to the Moon and none of them have produced any convincing evidence of NASA's alleged Moon landing sites on the Moon. NASA's 2009 LRO images, despite having better camera technology even all those years ago, are blurry, pixelated, therefore easy to fake, don't qualify as third party evidence, and depict the shadows of flags that would have disintegrated many years prior in the harsh lunar environment. Back to your "Russia" claim - You are not a spokesperson for Russia. Russian state television has broadcast many programs over the years that suggest the Apollo Moon missions were faked. Why hasn't Russia used one of their Soyuz spacecraft to send a man at least looping, and perhaps orbiting, around the Moon by now, to at least have that "2nd nation to do it" status and distinction, as they were allegedly just on the brink of doing back in the 1960's with their Soviet Zond program that sent living specimens of animals and plants there and back? Think about it. NASA used to test the survivability of space flight, when even just going below what is considered low Earth orbit, with chimpanzees. Then, the Soviets sent living specimens to the Moon, but decides to not send people there, and the Americans do absolutely zero practical, biological testing, but decide to go ahead a use their Apollo 8 crew as the "guinea pigs," or "lab rats"?

5:35. How could they win an Academy award for Star Wars in 1976, when the movie wasn’t released until 1977? Proof time travel exists!

Chris Kuhn is an amazing 3D artist. One of the few, if not the only one, to make some of his awesome models available for free.

Hi CD, I just wanted to let you know that about two days ago I began to have a migraine and so locked myself up in my favorite dark room. I my grief, I found your channel on the internet and - well... over the past two days I have managed to watch every video you've ever produced on this channel. I didn't realize it till the suggestions for new videos stopped being new. I freakin love your show more than a lot of the stuff I watch on KZitem, or even on any other streaming platform. It has sincerely made getting through this migraine a thoroughly awesome experience. I hope you keep up the great work! Hella excited for the next episode!

I've always been interested in VFX but have for some reason never understood the basics. Relating them to these kinds of films really helps me. Thank you so much. I really look forward to continuing this series.

"The realism of Jurassic Park." While the animatronics and VFX of the movie were realistic looking, most dinosaurs themselves weren't actually realistic. The velociraptor species showcased, (V. mongiensis) wasnt 2 meters tall, and scaly. More turkey sized, and feathered. References used were actually mislabeled Deinonychus specimens. With the Tyrannosaurus, however, while we think it was *lightly* feathered, we had no way of knowing that back in 1990, the year the novel that Crichton made the novel. We still didnt know when the film was made, granted that was only 3 years after.

Honestly LOVE this addition Captain. I was just thinking from your last video how it was so much story and not much explination of the "mechanics" of VFX. I think this format is so cool and satisfying, exactly the direction I didnt even know I could hope for. Good work :)

Can you make a video about the special effects in Lord of The Rings. Ideally it should be 3 episodes, each about 3h30min long.

Why did you take the "back to the future" music not from the film, but from a Japanese video-game for SNES?

Hey Captain Disillusion, love the vid as usual. I was just wondering, what music are you using during the ending montage of Zemeckis' work? Approximately from 9:10 to 10:08? Looking forward to the second part. :)

Real talk though, that music was dope, and I'd love knowing where it came from, if nothing else the music library or the composer.

Only Captain D could put the line "its a long, incestuous story" in without batting an eye". Amazing storytelling, and I had to watch it back to be sure that is, in fact, what you said.
