I remember being about 10 years old ….about 1972, went to an air show with my dad and older brother, the Harrier did all its show pieces including a very low fly by then when the pilot had finished all its manoeuvres it faced the crowds hovering around 20 feet off the ground and took three bows in appreciation of the applause….👌🏻

I sat in the pilot seat of a two-seater version, and that was an amazing experience in itself, but to fly an aircraft which can slow to a hover and have true VTOL capability must be such an incredible feeling for a pilot. Great filming on the video too, and good to see the appreciation for one of the most innovative inventions ever to come out of the UK. Best of luck to all involved in keeping the legacy of the Harrier JJ alive and well.

My grandfather flew the F-4 Phantom in Vietnam and throughout his career, I love seeing all the old photographs and had always wished to go up with him in any kind of aircraft just to see him in action. It's really awesome to Art stay in his passion!

I currently am a engine mechanic @MCAS CPNC building the F402-408B, and also have 4 yes of airframe experience. When I retire, that would be fun to be involved with. We are still turning these babies out. God Bless

Step by step with what you've got. One can always do things alone, but its alot easier if you have help. At least that's where I'm at these days.....

It's nice to see someone preserving an Icon of a plane that served the USMC and Royal navy faithfully a true warbird and a fine example of British engineering.

tootyfruity70 i would say that the harrier kind of like the P-51 in that they are both great examples of anglo American pairing the mustang would not have been as great as it was if not for the British Merlin engines. Like wise the harrier was a great British planes and when the usmc put there list of upgrades and improvements on the plane they help assure that the aircraft would remain the Best VTOL aircraft for many years to come.

I live at the home of the Harrier, Wittering , England, we miss them today, they are part of our village sign now, and one is posted permanent outside the RAF base, so missed, she's just like the A10 tankbuster, always needed,

As a young Marine, assigned to his first aviation squadron, at Cherry Point MCAS, I walked up to VMGR-252, a KC-130F squadron, and found the hangar next to ours, EMPTY. Very unusual to find during the war. Some squadrons had to share hangars. Eventually I was told that ALL personnel from that 'empty' squadron were in England, being trained on the first Harriers to be received by the Marine Corps. I guess they caught on. Congratulations and Thank You, Colonel Nalls !
