I don't know why people are comparing these two bikes with NS and RS. NS and RS are different and also cost equal or high than these bikes. Bajaj had already mentioned that these bikes are of new segments. And yes these 250 twins looks great to me.

I owned a 2006 pulsar 180 for nearly 11 years. The bike worked well only for the first year and then I had to change so many parts every now and then like the exhaust pipe which won’t last more than 7000 kilometers. Despite taking good care and getting the bike serviced at Bajaj service centers, it needed a piston change only at 28000 kilometers. In the end I ended up paying more than the cost of the bike within 5 years just for spares and labor charges. It had 80000 km on the odometer when I sold it. Comparatively, my brother’s 2007 FZ16 didn’t even cost half as much to maintain and has done more than 130000 km and we are still using it. Even my father’s 1988 Bajaj chetak outlasted my pulsar.

Lol! My cousin's FZ lasted only 35000km with proper company service . Carburettor replaced, decarbonisation, fork bent, head gasket leak, starter motor replaced etc. Labour charges was sky high similar to Honda's service cost and spares were of cheap quality. He spent the cost price of his bike as service and maintenance cost. One more thing the rear monoshock was also replaced.

140kmph with 5 speed Gearbox is great ! I think there is a misunderstanding among people about these 250's . Guys these twins represent a enhanced version of existing 220F . Don't compare it with NS , Dominar 250 or KTM 250's. I think in that perspective they've done a pretty good job & let's not forget 24.5PS & 21.5NM Torque machine at ₹1.4L is quite reasonable

Actually the RS 200 remains the flagship Pulsar with dual channel ABS. It just needs an updated instrument cluster. It should perform better on the track than these Pulsars too. I think the limitation on the NS platform is the frame, which makes it difficult for shorter riders. When I first ride the NS it felt top heavy in comparison to the older Pulsars, although I loved the commanding riding position. The new 250s will also be easier to live with compared to the liquid cooled Pulsars in the long run and more bullet proof

if you all have watched the live stream, Mr. Bajaj's emphatic intro into why PULSAR is the heart and soul of Bajaj, and then they deliver such mediocre, half baked under whelming products... they could have gone all out and made a game changers, but playing it safe, avoiding collateral damage i.e sibling rivalry and making sure these fit thier product portfolio by slotting in perfectly without standing out too much to underwhelm all their other products, MAN! That there was the business decision that will get them millions in sales but devoid them of another legend like the 220F.... this could have been your chance to set free a different bike, one thats not only not based on a detuned KTM mill, but also one that packs a punch no less...but either bajaj's engineering is incapable of designing a superior 250cc engine and therby dethroning the one KTM designs or they simply will not becasue of thier own stake in the Austrians, ergo the fiduciary responsibility!

Definitely, safety should be the first priority while designing any vehicle specially in the age of ever increasing population.Price should never be the ground to omit/ignore safety features.

They listen to their customers the same way they decide to go with color schemes. It's not what the customers want it's what they assume that the customer wants!

For the colour schemes you are correct. But you are wrong in the sense that these bikes are replacements for the 220, not to compete with the gixxers, dukes or even bajaj's own dominar. It is even mentioned that the 220 outsells the 200ns so bajaj decided to play it safe as they obviously dont want to mess up the formula of the 220
