This is a father's day special video!
Mawa Cake is a Parsi delicacy originated in Irani cafés of West India.It is traditionally made with eggs however this is an eggless version of the same. It is one of the hot selling items in my homebakery and is relished by all. It is rich, buttery and filled with flavours.
In the video it is by mistakenly written 75 gms Maida, instead it is 105 gms Maida
Cup measurements for the ingredients are as follows:-
Mawa Cake
Yield: 300-400 gms
Baking Time and Temperature: 40-45 mins at 170°C
For non oven baking:Take a Cooker without whistle or a deep vessel and place salt or sand at the base of the vessel. Then place a stand and then preheat the vessel just like we preheat the oven. Then place your baking tin and check in 40 mins. Flame of the gas should be low to medium only.
Ingredients: (in cup measurements, gram measurements given in the video)
cake Mould : 6 inches
For Mawa:
½ tsp /2.5 gms Unsalted Butter
⅛ cup/25 ml milk
¼ cup /38 gms milk Powder
For Cake Batter:
¼ cup /60 gms unsalted butter
½ cup/75 gms Powdered sugar
¾ cup /105 gms Maida
2 tbsp / 15 gms Almond Powder
¼ cup/30 gms chopped White Chocolate
½ tsp /2.5 gms Baking Powder
⅛ tsp /1.25 gms Baking Soda
⅛ cup/30 gms Curd
⅓ cup/95 ml milk
⅛ tsp Cardamom Powder
Nuts for garnishing
⅓ cup Milk
