After 2 decades of maintaining the same residential pool I’ve noticed a seasonal pattern that follows the weather changes (and correlates with bather load as well). I need to test up to 3x per week in summer (peak bather load), 2x per week in late spring and early fall. Then just once a week in late fall and through the winter. I live in South Florida where the pool is “open” year round but no heater installed. Summer has long heat waves and frequent thunderstorms. Mild winters but pool too cool to swim or grow algae. The pool consumes tons of chemicals in midsummer when the water temperature is in the high 80’s and practically no chemicals during the winter when it stays close to 70F (and no swimmers). Hope that experience helps somebody
