If you want absolute lazy mode, I go to each capital and buy a workshop producing whatever is abundant nearby. Wine from Marunath, Olive Press at Sargot and so on. Capitals are generally not changing hands too often and the Leader Clan will be looking after it. If you just want set and forget it works for me.

I am quite late with this, but thank you very much for sticking to just 1 font color, as well as toning down the red border and making the black background more transparent!!! It is now much more pleasant to read for my (perhaps sensitive) eyes. On another note, if prosperity is still heavily reliant on food availability in a city, then a potential side effect of workshops that convert food input into non-food output (oil press) is that they could reduce the prosperity of a city. If that's the case and the effect is significant, then one should avoid these workshops in their own cities. This could also apply to workshops like the brewery that turn food inputs (grain) into other food outputs (beer), if the resulting output feeds less people than the input that was used.

So.. If I understood well, workshop (for example: oil press) MUST BE in a city bounded to a village that produces olives (so the input prices isn't too high) but the output price must be high and in that case, there must be no other oil press workshop around?

So 1.8 economy would explain why my silversmith in Ortysia is currently "frozen" and not doing a thing, because prosperity is too low. It's not costing anything but it's not doing anything either. I couldn't figure out why it was frozen for 20 days now, with the same Initial and Current Capital of 10,000 and Last Run: 4 days ago, but it has to be because prosperity is too low to activate the shop. Has to be.

@@Flesson19It's not that it's making nothing, it's that it's doing nothing. It's been stuck at Initial Capital 10000, Current Capital 10000 and Last Run: 4 days ago for 20 days. Hey Flesson, love your videos, you do a great job. I have a question...Do you have any evidence that woodshops/smithies improve the weapons/armor available in the town? I was considering planting a workshop in a high prosperity town to try to get lordly/masterwork prefixes. Would love your input.

I have flipped faction so to speak to play Vlandia instead of Sturgia just to test it out abit. And tbh I barley ever have had to touch the workshops and they go usually from 150 ultra-rare to more common low being 190 and the high being 200-250 but seen upwards to 340 aswell. Note that this is year 7 of the play, I picked up my first shop from about 30 days or less in(winning some of the tournaments and getting a horse you can sell for 17000 denars is handy). Overall the poor economics of Sturgia isnt exactly great to put it that way ehem. The villages and what they produce dont help either - Fur for instance should be sold as a commidity as is, but also have "an export product" like furcoat or furhats etc something something. (dont get me wrong buying fur in Sturgia for cheap and selling to other nations is highly profitable) but it dont help the workshops ehem. The workshops in Sturgia typically wont peak those numbers you see in Vlandia until mid/late game (the only real execption being Linen shop in Omor, which can actually relative arly on give you 300-400 if you boost it abit tbh). I just feel like when I play Sturgia to keep the denars from the workshops flowing, you really need to micromanage and "do Nasa level maths" to see what is really profitable. Like you'd think that in Sibir with its attached wood production that buying the woodworkshop would be profitable - it typically isnt. Since Varnapol produce cheaper from its Iron it seems, not to mention that it seems that caravans buy all the wood, and sell to Varnapol where the price for wood is high, and also to Omor and Balgard, Thus the naturally attached resources "runs dry" and the shop dont produce due to lack of raw material at times. (I ended up just haveing linen in all my Sturgia towns and it was overall the most profitable)(since the other workshops was duplicates and thus not smart to invest money in. Like there was 2 iron workshops in Varnapol. Granted the workshops where there is 1 tannery though is profitable aswell. Wine is great or oil in Revvyl, depending if Varcheg have one of them, if so then pick the opposite and you'll get decent money 200 or so.(moves higher after time) I just find the whole unbalanced in terms of resources etc and the changes to the mechanics with updateing it, isnt exactly makeing playing Sturgia "an easy choice" overall it feels like hardmode vs other factions. With Vlandia we are at war with 3 factions at a time, and its no biggie at all, with Sturgia the others eat up the land fast..

Right, I have been pushing TW to give sturgia some love for over a year and nothing. Shops are just so volatile they arent worth it. Low risk low reward, well under 150 isnt low, id called it microscopic, when you factor in it cost 30-35k to buy one

Really enjoy these vid's! Thanks I haven't played since 1.1.0, but by the sounds of it... nothing has changed. Silver and wine are still the best. I would just put wine and silver in my top prosperity towns and reap the benefits (Sanala, Dunglanys, and whichever) I was hoping that the "luxury" changes would have made velvet better. Also hearing wood and smithies haven't been adjusted is rather sad... I remember juicing the northern emp town (inbetween Battania and Sturgia) that has 2-3 iron village feeders and it was soo hit and miss in terms of profit... when batt and sturg were at war (meaning there army/parties would visit my town), profits were good - otherwise it was just so-so.
