Pac-Man wasn't alone in debuting in March 1982, as Activision published both Grand Prix and Barnstorming that month for the VCS. A pair of time trial "racing" games, the pair exemplify why Activision had a reputation for gorgeous games and unusual premises. Barnstorming also represents the debut of Activision developer Steve Cartwright, while Grand Prix makes good on the promise of 1977's Street Racer with a top-down driving game with large, multicolored objects and smooth scrolling. Also in this video is the inaugural Crash Watch, a segment looking at industry reporting leading up to the market meltdown in late 1982.
