Students as partners: reflecting on my professional journey nearly a decade later
Abstract: In 2014, I was commissioned by the Higher Education Academy to produce an article highlighting interesting examples of partnership working with students in UK Mathematics Departments ("Students as Partners: Embracing the New Paradigm in Mathematics", Cooper, 2014). I will discuss my attempts to embed some of this learning in my own professional practice over the past decade, including developing and leading a credit-bearing module accrediting student ambassadorial work; leading several co-created curricular and co-curricular education projects; refining my understanding of co-creation vs co-curation and its relationship to decolonisation and social constructivism.
