The other thing with a UPS is that typically only half of the outlets are actually battery backup, the other half is just normal surge protection. That's how they get ya.

Just to add to that, i work for a ISP (Cable and Fibre) Especially for Cable, if the transferpoint (Cellar or Roof most likely) is not on a UPS as well, there is no chance saving your internet, because the router is nothing without the transfer point.

Yea, just ran into this at two sites this week. They plugged gear only into only the surge side not the battery outlets.

The "Comcast" has its own battery built in. It is likely with all the other gear connected to that UPS the whole system would last longer in a power outage if allowed to use its battery and not further drain the small UPS.

That Comcast Business gateway has a built in battery. I'm not saying that it will last very long, but neither with that small UPS.

Yeah, we have our own ups and the Cox guy (don’t ask) plugged the gateway into the ups, but not the DVR STB? At least he plugged the gateway into our ups, which actually surprised me, but idk why not the dvr.

You gotta network to network. Go to chamber of commerce mixers, go to non-profits, churches, shit like that. Don't offer to do shit for free for non-profits off the bat, but do do a bit extra things that only cost you your time, especially for non-profits and community orgs, AND make sure to point that shit out to the person in charge ONE time only. For example, "While I was doing this drop, I noticed your cables were tangled up, so I organized them for easier troubleshooting next time I'm in here." You'll be top of mind on next project.

Should have. But it wasn't being used by any of my equipment. Otherwise I would have made a video.
