DoME is entirely under appreciated and under utilized within universe…. Between the Venus sun shield, Telos IV’s storm inhibitors, the Cor Caroli disaster of 2715, and the Galax project. Humanity has basically developed all the tech needed to terraform and inhabit any planet within the inner sphere. It would be amazing if one of the current breed of content creators would work up a profile on the Department of Mega Engineering? I think the community would benefit from a greater understanding of just how mega the DoME was !!!

I agree with you that it's a fascinating part of the lore, but unfortunately there just isn't enough to make a dedicated video on. More than two thirds of everything that's ever been written about them relates to Mars and Venus, which I've done my best to work into these videos. Besides that it's just listing a few other examples like you've done in your comment, but we know comparatively little about those projects. We're told they were important, and we see the effect of that in how many new planets are colonised during the Star League era, but there isn't that much to discuss unless you want to start speculating.

I don't know if it is necessarily a Union but maybe. It's anachronistic of me to use that picture of it is because Unions won't exist for another few centuries yet. It was centuries ago, and every House, like every nation before them, has their own version of history. The egalitarian luxuriance of the 19th and 20th century were unique and only because the best surviving records come from North American and Western Europe- everyone else was using either their history book or the PRC or USSR's books as clients. If there is a five year stretch of history that historians find fuzzy, it's only because so much burned. I don't even know when my Vindicator was saved from the Capellans, much less when it was made. It's mine, it was my grandfathers, and it works. That is what matters in the Inner Sphere.

I do like the different dates/different views in each of the house books. Its closer to how history is recorded now. An example of this would be ww2. Japans recorded history of the war is very different from the USA version. Every Canadian i have talked with says they single handedly won ww1 and ww2 and the rest of the allies just took credit for their work. So im sure there would be differences in every country's history for every event. With that being said. The source book that would have the most neutral/informed information on history would be comstar, if they are willing to share. History can be a pain at times for the same reasons you talked about. Depends how you classify WarShip. In "modern" use (i.e. 3025+) it's specifically any vessel equipped with a Compact Kearny-Fuchida Drive, in which case the first full-blown WarShip was the TAS Dreadnought in 2300. But the first armed military vessel equipped with a standard KF drive was TAS Charger in 2122, which in its day might have been called a WarShip. The earliest we have stats for was the Aquilla-class from 2148.
