Thank you for sharing the the auger cleaning tip! Just bought one yesterday and used it earlier today. Was able to unplugged my kitchen sink drain in 15 min. This is the first time I have bought an electrical drain auger. Without your video, I wouldn't know if and how l should clean and oil the cable and drum thoroughly before storage. FYI, I used a Ryobi 18V High Volume Power Inflator (Model #P738) to blow air through the drain plug hole into the drum to dry it. It seemed to have worked.

I'm glad I was able to help. Prior to buying my unit we regularly had stopped up drains in the kitchen and and my partner would would call a plumber out. The plumber would unstop the drain and it would stay clear for a few weeks and then stop up again. Being a major do-it-yourselfer one day I decided all what the heck I'll just buy one and just do it myself and save the $250 some odd dollars. That was over 2 years ago after I cleared the drain myself it never stopped up again. My partner said: "see you should have did it yourself stupid".... I guess she was right....

@@ALASAT1 LOL. She is always right. POLYMYXA came from my old buddy ""Polymyxa graminis", a fungus.

Oh, Ok. I know it's a fungus but they also make antibiotics with it.

@@ALASAT1 I didn't know that. Many many years ago I had to look for that fungus in wheat roots under microscopes everyday for almost a year. It really destroyed my eyes.

I do drain professionally and run in the rain And snow outside is OK if your motor gets what might get wet

As being a former manufacturing engineer and person that certified electrical devices for UL, CSA, AGA and NSF the thought of having water or snow get into an electrical motor that is connected to a live circuit gives me the willies.... As a professional you should set a good example for the rest of us, we are depending on you to be around for the future of stopped up drains!! 😉

Thanks for the compliment. The oil works good but remember not all oils absorb the remaining moisture and may seal it in by covering it.

Does anybody know if the applicance can work on 220 V elecrical current? I'm asking because I'm based in Europe and ordered one but it doesnt say if it could be used on more than 120 V electrical current

Use an adapter, it’s 120v only.

Wd-40?...
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
You know WD- 40 was created by the Rocket Chemical Company as a WATER DISPLACER (Formula 40) to drive moisture off ignition wires in the early uncoated wire days. It does drive off moisture but will not absorb it as it is not HYGROSCOPIC.
@ALASAT1

WD-40 was used on our first space rockets to keep moisture from condensing on the rocket's body as the rockets were as thin as a beer can and originally kept pressurized by air until they put fuel in them to keep them rigid and not collapse under their own weight.

Soak it down before you use it and just wipe it off when you are done. Any penetrating oil will work also.
