The Christmas idents in the 70's & early 80's may have looked primitive compared to more recent years, but they're still so fondly remembered

I wonder why the BBC goes back to their normal Idents on New Year's Day when it's STILL the Festive season. Surely they could wait until the next day,January 2nd.

Gawd, Mike Yarwood. In hindsight he really was a bit sh/it. I remember there was another impressionist at the time called Paul Melba....who was better. my teenage years were all through the Seventies and Christmas was absolutely my favourite time of the year. It's a shame children today don't have quite the simple innocence that we had.

Which ident was your favorite? Mine was 1986. Second place is 1983. Third would probably have to be 1989

Would’ve been really helpful if these were dated/put in some kind of chronological order.
