All of her contemporaries (Chris, BJK, Martina, Virginia Wade) were amazed what a superb broadcaster and tv anchor Sue Barker became after she retired from professional tennis. During Wimbledon she'd host maybe 8 hours of continuous live television and after the finals seamlessly do the post match interviews to an incredible standard.

“I’m rude as usual “ Lol it’s great seeing Chrissie loose and candid after watching her for so many years especially during her playing days where she watched every word , afraid to slight any one. People know she’s a class act , she can poke fun at herself.

Evert always picks Serena to win EVERY tournament, this isn't anything new. Many times Chris fell on her face when Serena lost in the finals of big tournaments like Wimbledon and U.S. Open in 2018. Sue Barker is warm, witty, and insightful as usual. Evert is a much better commentator when she's around Barker.

If it hadn’t been for Martina, Evert would probably have beaten Margaret Courts record. Evert’s career coincided with the game becoming more power and the end of the wood racket. Same kind of thing with Bjorn Borg.

Wow. I just rushed to Wikipedia as I always do if I don't know much about someone. Sue Barker is an actual tennis great. She won a Grand Slam. People like that aren't expected to be regular broadcast journalist and I'm shocked out of my wits. Most of the people I know who have previously made a big name for themselves usually sign a contract to have one programme of theirs with a network, not just applying to become one of their permanent staff. On her level, that looks like a demotion to me. I stand to be corrected

Why is Evert kissing Serena's ass ? Let's face it : Serena had such an easy draw up to the final that it was impossible to gauge her form. She got totally outplayed during the final by a top player. This interview sounds irrelevant now. Would have been more interesting to have Evert's point of view AFTER the final...

Leo Light I think Evert is tired of giving “now that Serena is older speech “ Evert might as well be generous because let’s face it , Serena doesn’t have to win another match to be considered the GOAT. Has Chris forgotten that she played her final match in Fed Cup just a month before turning 35? Serena is 36 and she reached W final when she says what’s her excuse ? Evert did hint that although Serena is GOAT she can be beaten when she doesn’t bring her A game to a hot player. Sue is so warm and seamless . Enjoy these two ,could listen for hours . Highlight of each years W .

Judging from here performance against Georges her opinion was not far fetched. She emphasised that Serena still needed her a-game to prevail. Regarding the way Kerber has been performing in the previous matches, she still could have beaten Serena's a-game.

Leo Light Chris has always been honest. She rode Serena years ago for not focusing on tennis and diverting her attention to fashion and getting fashion degrees. Her point that she was a better tennis player than clothing designer and felt that she was wasting her talents because she felt Serena could be best ever if she put 100 percent of herself in to tennis. Now, she is giving credit where credit is due. Serena did focus on tennis and she has 23 slam titles . I don’t think Chris was kissing her ass. Truth is is that Serena has a way to go before she reaches her previous form , we all know that including Chris . Kerber played the match of her life and no one saw that coming . Plus Serena could not move that day of the final. Chris did say as much after the match in a Wimbledon wrap up telecast.
