When ur watching such an amazing legend, especially this type of song he would be mesmerising…the audience would be almost dazed & in awe …last thing you do when watching such a genius is to be stunned not up screaming like he’s doing jailhouse rock!! Stevie Ray Vaughan had that effect…stunned slack jawed amazement ❤

This was in the earliest days of Vegas and everyone was seated at tables. It was more like dinner theater rather than a concert venue. Would have been difficult to stand up but I sure do agree with you. If there's one performance that deserves a standing ovation, it's this one.

I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. He is and always will be my favorite. There is no one who was like him or ever will be I can’t say enough about him but you said it all. He was an amazing performer and so beautiful inside and out. He definitely was one of a kind performer and a amazing man. He also was unique and impressive. I can’t imagine anyone who has even come close to the amazing talent he had. like I said, there will never be anyone who had a more caring heart then he did. I will love him forever. Every time I hear him I’m just an honor of his voice and there’s a feeling that I can’t even describe that is pure happiness

Absolutely a beautiful song. It comes from Elvis’s soul. Paul Simon was enthralled with this version and felt their version was not comparable to the King. Years later Paul Simon visited Graceland as a tourist and was deeply impressed by the Elvis memorial and how he had affected the world. Paul went back to New York and produced his album Graceland.

I love Elvis' voice, and he did put every ounce of emotion into everything he sang. I had a sister, now deceased, 12 years my senior who was absolutely crazy about him. She finally had tickets to go see him in August 1977, and we all know what happened, sadly, so she never got that wish fulfilled. I like to think that she got to meet him in heaven. Even though he hated doing them, I loved his movies, too, as a kid. One of my favorite songs of his is 'Suspicious Minds' and he had the perfect voice for gospel, so his version of 'How Great Thou Art' is beautiful. Christmas wouldn't be the same without playing 'Blue Christmas' and that entire album. No one has a voice like his, so I could never tire of listening to him, and what female could resist 'Can't Help Falling in Love With You'? We've lost Elvis, Michael Jackson, Prince and others not to illicit drugs but to drugs prescribed by doctors, and only Jackson's doctor was prosecuted and lost his license. I watched a video another guy posted of an interview of Elvis after all=one of his concerts, with his entourage standing around him, and he said that after doing two shows (in Vegas, I assume) per day, a lot of times they're wound up so much that it can take up to four hours to wind down, so they just go back to a room (his suite?) and sing songs of all genres. They never grow tired of singing because every time is unique for them in how they may do a song a little different. I would imagine the changing of audiences would've had something to do with that and their mood, too. The drugs were likely a part of it for him. Anyway, thank you, BD. I don't know if I'd actually heard him sing that, or it'd just been a very long time and I'd forgotten. Oh, one of my favorite shows was his televised comeback when he was dressed in all black rather than white jumpsuits. I'm sure you of all people know which one I'm talking about, so maybe you could do something with that, for memory's sake or for those you may've just gotten interested in him.

We had front row tickets to see Elvis 's second show in Portland Maine. My sister was in line when they came out and said they were sold out, but to stay right there. Then they came back and said they were goi8ng to do a second show the next night. thats how we ended up with front row seats. I couldn't believe that i would finally get a scarf or even a kiss. We were heart broken. Thank God we did get to see him in concert when we lived in Ohio 1974, 1975, and 1976. We were so blessed.

This man sang with so much passion... His voice was a God given talent to all of us. My mother, obviously, introduced me to Elvis.. I'm 57 and still think he's the greatest solo singer I've ever heard. Dad raised me on Frankie.. love him too but not like Elvis. Hell .. I grew up with the Voice of the 80's.. Steve Perry.. doesn't come close to Elvis as far as the IT factor.

He was only the king by default bro. Jerry Lee Lewis was the one being groomed as the king of rock n roll by Sam Phillips, the owner of Sun Records. When Jerry Lee married his 13 year old cousin Sam Phillips knew he needed a more wholesome king of rock. Elvis was then brought in to take his place

You are so WRONG ! The fans of Elvis Presley called him the King way back in 1950s, and they STILL do today , and that's because Elvis WAS....IS and WILL BE forever the King of rock and roll. Nothing that was happening with.Jerry Lee Lewis would have mattered . Elvis came along BEFORE Jerry. Lee Lewis did , at least at Sun Studios . Elvis was influenced by black music, but nearly everybody who came after him was influenced by Elvis , including Jerry Lee Lewis. Nobody in the 1950s was calling Jerry Lee the King of rock and roll , but millions WERE already calling Elvis that...Even all the history books on rock and roll call Elvis the king . NOBODY will ever take that title away from Elvis ! .

Ridicoulous😅 Elvis signed with Sun Studios in 1954, 19 year old he originated the rockabilly sound -That's all right Mama, July 1954. Nobody had heard anything like it. Lewis didn't audition for Sam Philips until 1956 when Elvis already was a national sensation.
