it is interesting how the lines meant to be branches of the tree begin to look like the veins in a leaf. also, I really like the tiny leaves you added, almost as an afterthought. it becomes a kind of "controlled chaos" by taming the randomness of the colors into tiny pockets of calm (yet windswept) leaves. maybe it is my monitor, your camera, the youtube compression algorithm, or just my eye, but the flat beige seemed to "wake up" the movement of the paints. I wonder what it would look like with a flat brown. (that would be a lot of brown in all of the negative space that is currently occupied by the gold, wouldn't it?) I agree with your idea about doing a messy pour in the direction of her hair then, once thoroughly dry, masking off the face... but (and I hope this makes sense) what if you were to do two masks, both in the shape of the face only one is 1/2"- 3/8" larger and to the left, tapering together at the forehead and, after spraying the gold, peel the 1/2" silhouette away and either spray with black or brown... or a mixture of both to give the illusion of bark? wait. nevermind. this would require masking the entirety of the gold, wouldn't it? hmm. it is all in my head, not yours. I like what you have done here, and you asked for ideas; you didn't ask for new concepts. finally, wind! similar to the mermaid, you create movement in behind the face with a calm, sky blue on the other side. as for what kind of movement, I don't know. there is also the meeting of wind, sky, water, and earth in the form of rain. is there a way to pour so that you only get tiny metallic spots on a field of blue, gray, and brown, giving the illusion of raindrops? sorry. I am rambling. I just started watching the mermaid video when the black/brown separation from the gold came to mind. I don't really know what is possible yet.

WOW WHAT A COMMENT! I am absolutely floored and in awe! Thank you so much for everything you had to say - so much interesting insight and so many fantastic suggestions! There is so much here that I need to think about when I approach my next piece and honestly, if I ever have a book made about my art I will be asking you to write it! Do you do any art yourself? I would love to see it, I’m sure it would be filled with the same insight and wisdom as your writing ✍️ Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ ABcreative

@@abcreativeofficial you are quite welcome and I am most flattered. I was a photographer for years (my passion was landscapes, but I learned to love the precision that can go into portraits... I even did a few weddings to prove that i could do it) until I became "disabled." (I hate that word, but it hard to do landscapes when you can barely get 50 feet from the car. I used to hike down the sides of mountains in NC just to see what it looked like from the bottom. I used to rock-hop across the Congaree River with 40lbs of equipment on my back and a tripod in my hand an hour before sunrise to shoot from my favorite spot [sp far] on this planet. I miss those days.) I stopped doing anything artistic for ~10 years, but I started looking for a niche that I can "from home." (I could probably do portraits, but I sold almost all of my lights as well as my pro camera bodies. starting over would be daunting and saddening.) like I said: I am looking for my niche. I am currently writing a book (I have a 30 page "broad strokes" version and I am five chapters in, which is a little over 100 pages single-spaced) and I am learning "digital" painting, but I want to something "tangible." That may or may not make sense, except to say everything I am doing now is now either in my head or on a hard drive. when I was done with a photograph, I would have anywhere from one hour to ~80 hours invested... then it was always off to be printed. I needed the physical print to feel "complete." I am rambling again. sorry. a long answer to a short question. I am old, so forgive me if this doesn't work: facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150172082110174&type=3 these are some of my favorites, all for different reasons. (if it does work, you can see the Congaree at sunrise in the first photo.) p.s. my brain jumps around a lot (adhd at 43), so if I seem all over the place at times, it is because I usually have to go back and put my ideas in order once I am done writing, but that's worky on my phone. they make sense, but they come in snippets then I circle back around.

For the air woman, I am wondering how the feather technique for her hair would look? You know, feathers = birds = flight = air? Because air is colourless but associated with the sky, using colours that are found in clouds; greys, whites, silvers, opalescent and pale blues and perhaps more metalics to give more movement?

Agreed. I also think the swipe should be S-shaped to represent flow.

I like this version. I tried it but it was not successful. I’ve watched you for a long time, however I am a “show me”person I guess in person. I need some personal lessons, are you ever close to Cincinnati? Where should I look for your reply to me. I really admire your work. Good job!

This was my first time watching your video. I was transfixed. As I was thinking how relaxing it was just watching you, you actually said how relaxing it was to do. I will cetainly be having a go at something like your beautiful Autumn Tree Woman. She is gorgeous. I love the colours and the effect - amazing to think you achieved that with wet kitchen roll.. Fantstic. I will definitely be watching more of your videos. Thank you. Tracy.

I would like to take your great concept of Tree Woman and, from it, develop a separate painting of a man below the Tree Woman and extend the tree roots into the man's head as though her roots are planted into the man's being, or the man becomes the substance below from which she can draw the necessities of life. It's like they fit together and become one, inseparable. Connected? - It's hard to find a title that is right for both pictures together, but can be used for the man painting when separate from the Tree Lady? Randolph, Australia

That’s a great idea; thank you very much 😊I’ve been thinking of painting a man for a very long time but still can’t ‘see’ clearly what I would like to achieve..🤪

Lovely painting. I just had a question . I have lots of gouache liquid paint i bought by mistake. Can I mix them with elmers glue all and use it for pour painting with other acrylic colors. Please do let me know Also where can I get the cut out for the face as I'm not very good with drawing faces.

Thank you very much!💕😊 I wouldn’t mix gouache with acrylics as they have different properties ; (but you can definitely experiment...and share the results with me😁) I’m sorry I don’t have templates for the ladies, I just sketch them. There are plenty of similar silhouettes online that you could trace.

I loved your painting. Try laying the contact paper before cutting then use an exacto knife (scalpel) to cut around the outline. It is fairly easy to cut through the film an not the canvas.

Wow. This is another stunning piece. May I ask please how do all those cells appear when you do the swipe? Is that down to the coconut serum? Many thanks
@abcreativeofficial

You are so kind, Thank you! 🥰 Yes, the serum (or any other silicone product) helps creating more cells, though you can also get them using some Floetrol or even water😃
