Did you made the bypass?

It’s confusing. If the red wire to the logic inverter is removed BEFORE the security “feature” is triggered, the radio can be removed and installed without worry. BUT, What he doesn’t say, is that once you pull the radio out it’s too late. The radio is junk until you have it reset by Becker or with m.b tool. At this point removing the security wire makes sense. The single piece of missing information is how to reset a security locked radio without the tool. Nobody seems to know.

Look carefully at the rest of the videos that I have done there is a link to the reset it’s complicated without the tool but I show how one can be built but not easily done. It’s very difficult and tricky

@@rick601a I spoke too soon. The next video I watched, referred me to the video that shows how to do it. Thank you so much!

@@rick601a somewhere on the web I remember reading that the 754 has one of the best a.m. sections of any car radio. Do you agree? Is there something about it that makes this special? Thank you.

@@n9zmn it’s not easy but it’s a long hard process to get it to work. It’s requires some time.

I may have fubared my 754 when I pulled it out while working in the Dash area. Now the display works but no sound out the speakers. Where is this "trip wire" that causes it to clear the RAM? Or is it simply just removing the power connector causes this?

If you have a display you are good and have not tripped the security. If you trip the security you will only display _ _ _ _ on the display. Check the audio outputs for audio left and right. You probably have bad caps. If there is any corrosion around any caps or resistors around the area. The unit will need to be cleaned and recap.

Okay so if I get that new wiring harness, is it plug and play?

If your radio has had the bypass done on it then you just don’t need the connection. And if you are using the 754 radio In anything that dosent use the security then don’t use anything in the socket

@@rick601a I don’t know if has been bypassed. It has a green Becker reconditioned decal on it. I removed the panels to see if any wires were removed but couldn’t see the wires without more disassembly. I bought this car last year and it was in - - - - mode. I also didn’t have the code. I heard that the only way to get it working was to send it Becker for $250 or getting the special reset tool. I didn’t do it since I got another radio for $50. It’s a newer one but now I’m having second thoughts since coming across your video. Since I have the green Becker decal maybe I only need the code for it to work? If it isn’t in tripped mode would it display CODE? Or - - - -? Thanks

The sticker is usually indicated that most likely the radio has been serviced and most have had the bypass done by now. If it’s a 754 then it uses the reset tool to reload it from - - - - display but if it’s been removed and still working then it’s probably had the bypass. Usually when you remove them from dash there is a security plug on the frame tab of radio that gets unplugged and that trips the alarm. And clears the radio if it’s not been bypassed.
