Hello and Congrats on sweet baby #4! I'm smiling right now because I started following you when you were pregnant with baby #3 and I was TTC and watching every channel I could that was ttc related. When I gave up ttc I stopped following all the related channels including yours. Fast forward a couple years and when covid hit I took up Crochet and knitting and created this you tube account and here you are popped into my feed again. That is such a blessing. God bless you!

I love all the knitting vlogs but for how to do simple things, Norman from Nimble Needles is awesome. He makes complex things seem simple and doable. When I knit my first grandchild the first baby hat, I lined it with a valour (sp? - like the inside of a sweatshirt almost) inside and just hand sewed it. Because I didn't know how to knit in the round yet, I made a rectangle and folded it in half & stitched it up so that there was a point over each ear, then added a small pompom to each 'corner'. Wish I still had a photo - it was 15 years ago. That child's mother is my baby girl, born in Brainerd, MN in January 1976.

Hi thanx for the video, I'm not a complete beginner but kinda am because my knitting is always a phase, that I just keep coming back to. I stopped knitting for a year and just picked it up again about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm trying to finish a sweater, I started over a year ago. You can totally knit in the round! I like it for knitting hat's, I am trying to learn sock knitting, but for that I personally prefer dpn's(double pointed needles), not a fan of the "Magic Loop" technique. Good luck to you and your upcoming new family member.

Congratulations on learning to knit, it really is so rewarding especially when knitting for your own wee bundle of joy, nothing nicer than seeing a baby wrapped up in a blanket with all the love that went into making it. No matter how long we have been knitting for, we are still all beginners, there's always something new to learn, I have been knitting for over 60 year since I was a child, I love knitting baby clothes and especially baby shawls, but I also knit a lot of adults arans sweaters, I'm currently knitting a baby sleeping bag with cables, but I have only just learnt how to knit in the round with circular needles like you have, I have been knitting in the round for year's using the old 4 needles method, and I am so sorry that I didn't use circular needles sooner. I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I look forward to watching your knitting grow and look forward to seeing your wee bundle of joy whenever he arrives. Stay safe stay well, hugs from Scotland xxx

i love your enthusiasm! knitting means so much to me, so it's wonderful to see someone else “getting it.” check out some of the cuff-down vanilla sock patterns for worsted or chunky weight wool, and give sock making a try. you may be surprised to find that it's totally doable, and you'll have an end product that you can give to all of your friends and family, again and again. i often hear that knitting baby socks is a good introduction to making socks, but i feel they're too fiddly, especially for someone who uses size #50 needles (!), and would recommend trying adult socks first. then, when you turn to baby and kid socks, just think of how cute your new little one and the rest of your kids will look, running around in the socks that you made for them :)

Really proud for you! You are a lovely person and you are so brave to knit with size 50 needles. I've knitted and crocheted for most of my 74 yrs., never on size 50. 😃 Your projects are lovely and you can already tell you are getting better with each new item. Keep up your good work. One little suggestion: Slip the last stitch of projects, turn and knit or purl the next side to create a nice edge/finish. Love your honesty and excitement.

I love this podcast. I'm a beginner knitter myself. I've finished only two projects up to today. A triangle lace shawl for myself and a sweater for my nephew. I've cast on a sweater for myself, a headband, and some socks that are shelved for now and I'm working on a baby blanket for a friend of mine. I think I have a problem with starting new things. But anyway was lovely to see someone with about the same skill level as myself here on youtube.

Hi, I have been knitting and crocheting for several years . I taught myself after one of my son's friend was out in the snow with nothing on his hands. So now I am 67 and retired I have been making crowls and shawls and believe me they are just stressed free. I make hats and other things for our food pantry and I have helped the homeless shelter and a few churches too. Believe me doing your hats is very easy on circular needles. I hate sewing anything so it works fine for me. Have fun learning new skills as I am even at my age. Have fun with your family these coming holidays.

@@alanandjanetpohl4043 it gives me so much pleasure to make things for anyone that could use them. I have crocheted baby dresses, and hats for a church charity that my boss's wife got me interested in. Look haha I give out my hats or mittens to the kids that will deliver a food I ordered out. I am always looking for new patterns to use up my scraps. Take care I think you and your family are just too cute. Oh knitting in the round is very easy on hats. You will be amazed at it so enjoy. Take care

Thank you for sharing, you're enthusiasm is beautiful! I'm also a beginner knitter, I learnt last January and am just starting to become a bit more adventurous with my projects, which is fun! I know I'm a bit late commenting, but a cowl would look amazing in the same pattern as the baby blanket. Could be a perfect project for knitting in the round too as you can use circular needles and not fuss with the double pointed ones (although I think they're fun too, I found them a bit tricky) Happy knitting!

I find that using wooden needles if the yarn does not slide off of buy a little pledge to them or a little oil very lightly non-staining and wife off sometimes it would needles get a little dry if that doesn't work stay in them down a little bit and then apply the oil again and you will see that your yarn with slide much easier
