Nursery capacity threatens not just the supply of seedlings for reforestation, it challenges the active restoration of crucial wildlife habitat. In July 2022, American Forests led a group of local Girl Scouts through a tour of the Marinoff Nursery owned and operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Alamo, Texas, to learn more about the importance of native seed collection and the everyday challenges our trees and nursery staff and volunteers face.
