I don't believe Yamaha gets the respect that they deserve. They make some high quality guitars. Even their low-end instruments are usually very good.

I own 20 Yamaha guitars. My first one I bought in Finnland back in 1980. That was Yamaha SG 2000. Right now my Yamaha collection are: Acoustic G-85 classic guitar, LL-6, FGX-800C, LL-TA, Silent guitar SLG 100N. Electric: Revstar RS502T, SSC 500, SL 400S, SA 1100, AES 620, AES 820, AEX 1500, SG 2000, Pacifica 012, Pacifica 512, AEX 502, RGX A2, EZ-EG, SE 250 and also Pacifica Standard made for Line 6 Variax. In addition I'm collecting Yamaha guitars pedals. They are awesome. In my opinion much better than Boss pedals.

I love my Yamaha Revstar 320. You never really see a lot of demos displaying how they sound playing punk/ska music, but it's really perfect for that style. I use it for all of my band's shows and recordings.

As a bass player pf 30+ yrs....you can't go wrong with Yamaha basses in any price category. Now to bring back the RBX375 and up series AND reissue the Myung 6 stringer even if you have to drop the Myung connection.

Love Yamaha guitars, they’re the best value for Montfort the cheapest to the most expensive, this is obviously about their lovely electrics but the acoustics are fabulous as well

How about a chambered SG3000 with a 2-way truss rod, compound radius fretboard, Evo frets, original pups, no silly coil taps/phase, no active electronic, not neck-heavy. Slotted headstock!

I've tried to contact Yamaha as a courtesy but they never responded to my queries. My road guitars are 600 series Pacificas. I've made mods to them. The one mod I make that Yamaha should adopt is to change the Custom 5 bridge pickups to the Duncan 59/Custom Hybrid. The Custom 5 is too scooped for Rock solo tones but sounds great in single coil mode. Both pickups retail for about the same cost. I talked to Seymour Duncan and told them my problem with Custom 5 the pickup and they recommended the 59 Custom Hybrid. Killer pickup. The 59 Custom Hybrid has the Custom coil for great single coil tones and in humbucker mode the 59 coil gives it the mids you need when you push it rock/lead tones. My two PAC611s and my PAC612 all now have that pickup in the bridge.

Maybe give some clarity to the vast price ranges in the Pacifica and Revstar lines? Numbers and letters mean little to us Americans, and we might even know less about "cafe racers" lol.

For all english speaking people, if you want to be right with the pronounciation of "luthier" or "lutherie", which are french words, you have to pronounce to "th" as a simple "t". The word "luthier" come from an old european stringed instrument call the "Luth" which is also the european form of an arab Luth called the "Oud", and the word "Luth" is pronounced with a simple "t" at the end, like you need to pronounce "Luthier"!

The pronunciation would be right if I was French but as I´m English I´ll stick to the English word "Luthier" with "TH" lol

Yamaha’s 600 series Pacifica is BETTER than any American made Gibson or Fender but they are too modest in their advertising. They really need to promote that series as direct competition to Fender’s American and Mexican line as well as Gibson’s American and Chinese made guitars. Because frankly Yamaha quality blows them both away!
