Gym Workout Video | How to Warm Up for any PR attempt:
A perfect warm-up consists of a general and a specific part. You have to follow these steps before attempting a PR on any exercise.
1. THE GENERAL WARM-UP: This should warm your entire body up and prepare you for activity. It can consist of 5-10 minutes of light exercise on a cross-trainer or a rowing machine, or simply some light mobility drills.
2. THE SPECIFIC WARM-UP: This should warm you up for your specific task at hand. For example, if you are going to do bench press, then your specific warm-up should consist of gradually heavier sets of bench pressing. This is what the video above shows you.
In this video, I'm attempting a PR of 120 KGs. So the buildup sets will be:
47.5Kg x 8 reps (40% of 1RM est.)
60Kg x 5 reps (50% of 1RM est.)
72.5kg x 4 reps (60% of 1RM est.)
85kg x 3 reps (70% of 1RM est.)
95kg x 2 rep (80% of 1RM est.)
107.5kg x 1 rep (90% of 1RM est.)
115kg x 1 rep (95% of 1RM est.)
120kg x1 attempt (100% of 1RM est.)
Good Luck for your PR!
