Are you still using the flat right wrist? Never heard of this before now?.
@Wooduck

@@dry509 I do 509. Anytime o move my wrist the club face moves and I struggle to get the wrist back to a position that allows the face to be square at impact. This is a key for me to play at the highest level I possibly can. Jimmy Ballard who's vid I put in the comments section agrees that my thinking is correct. May not be what works for others but I'm sure it would help other amateurs become a better striker of the ball, and your correct not many have heard this bit of information.

@@Wooduck Yeah I tried it at the driving range with a 7 iron and I did hit the ball more solid and farther. Did not seem to work for me with the driver though. I still do not know how to hit the driver no matter what I do. Every now and then I will hit it in the fairway about 200. Normally I struggle to hit it 150 and usually slice.

I agree Bill. I took lessons from Jimmy back in the mid 90's and a guy named Peter Croker from Australia who taught the push method at a teach the teacher week class in Orlando. Different but pushing the club will give you more distance in my opinion. Excellent lesson.

I appreciate and enjoy all your vids. I just wanted to jump in and share that I have never in my life thought about pulling OR pushing in my downswing. I don’t think about anything. So I don’t even know what I do. I do believe my trail wrist is quite neutral tho; there is no bow or cup at the top. Nothing exciting but it works. I will just say that my brain has a hard time understanding a pushing of my trail arm tho in the downswing because it’s behind me. When you’re going to push something, seems to me, you gotta get behind it. How can you get behind your trail arm? Just seems like when something is behind you, you gotta pull it. But that’s just how my brain works.

With the ball being out in front of you how do you pull yourself to the ball Craig. Your too the side of the ball but you are also behind it. Imagine the ball being the back of a car your trying to push off the road after it runs out of gas. Keep doing what your doing your wrist as you explained is in good position.

Jimmy Ballard approves of this video 100%. How do I know? Because on Friday January 21, 2020 at about 2:30 in the afternoon he showed me this exact move. I didn't really understand it at the time, but here I am 2 1/2 years later and I'm doing it and loving it. Jimmy used to sell a wrist brace for the right hand (trail) so it wouldn't break down (bend back). If you do a deep dive on the internet, there is a video of him explaining the purpose of the brace. I think it's a Vimeo video. I'll try to find it.

Wow Curtis that is certainly weird, but doesn't surprise me at all. I have always said there is nothing new or a deep secret out there, it's all been done before. All I do is try to put it in front of people so they can make the decision to try it or just let it go. I guess when anything is repeated enough you have to wonder if there is merit to that information. With this move it is very important and one which is rarely talked about or even tried. Why? Because traditional teaching doesn't recognize it as a worthy subject because it doesn't fit their narrative. I have always challenged traditional teachings because I knew in my heart it wasn't legit because no one was getting better and the scores proved that. Thanks for the information, I'm sure I saw the same thing as you from Jimmy, it just resurfaced and I felt it needed to be introduced to the viewers. The move is powerful and fits all the principles that VBG is based on. Thanks will try and find the video, watched many of his vids over the years.

Wow bill just went to my backyard net and mat took me about 10 to 12 swings but when it clicked I was killing the ball. Felt like it would go through the net great contact feels to me just like the right palm is like facing my head I can feel it. Just that little move who would of thought going to try it tomorrow in a big fathers day match.

Hey Roy, that's exactly how it feels, no more carrying a trey with the right hand, that just doesn't work as we were all told. Surprised you pick up on it so fast, it usually takes many reps to get rid of the old information. Just keep doing it until you don't have to think about it anymore, this one move will make a big difference in your ball striking. Good luck tomorrow in your tournament, let me know how the move worked out!!

@Wooduck

Good question Trace, at present I'm in search of centrifugal force and do believe I found it yesterday during my round. No push or pull with either arm, they seemed neutral where one was not overpowering the other. Will mention what and how it feels in my next vid, thanks for asking by the way!!!

So when you say you are pushing with the shoulders, do you mean you are swinging like you are swinging a baseball bat or more like just keeping the club stabilized as you swing, almost like you are resisting the wind?

The shoulders are as I defined is the upper arms Handloading. Keeping the club stable would be more in line than swinging a baseball bat I would say. Thanks

Well Rod don't worry that you don't understand the vid, your definitely not alone. Took me a long time to what to hear and what Not not to hear. On the ability to push or pull with the trail elbow either way is acceptable in my view, some people pull with their lead side back to the ball and some people push with their trail elbow back to the ball. Some even pull with their trail elbow back to the ball. The vid demonstrates one thing, the only way to push with the trail elbow, that's all.

Golf can be viewed as a reaction sport Pat. We usually think as an object moving as what we want to hit and we react to the movement of that object. In golf we have the object stationary, but our body moves in a way to strike it therefore our body is once again reacting to an object to hit, it really doesn't have to be moving as is baseball. Good observation on your part, keep it simple.

David this is just another example of how one can think of the golf swing and all it's parts. There is in many respects no right or wrong just different mindsets. My job is only to give the viewer options, if those options don't work they can be abandoned by the viewer, if they do work well one may want to incorporate it into their game. Hope that helped.
