On the first day, we visited Epopeia Italiana, a theme park that portrays Italian immigration to Brazil. Afterwards, we board the Maria Fumaça, a train that travels through the region with wine tasting, and we stop at the train station in Garibaldi for photos and more wine, then we continue to Bento Gonçalves. The day ended with a delicious burger at The Ferris Burguer.
On the second day, we visited four wineries: Casa Valduga, Miolo, Cave de Pedra and Cooperativa Vinícola Aurora. It was incredible to get to know the wine production process and, of course, to taste some wines from the most popular to the most highly regarded in the valley of vineyards. We learned a lot about the history of wine in the area and had a great time.
On the third day, we follow the Caminhos de Pedra, a tourist route that highlights the Italian architecture of the region. We visit Casa da Ovelha, where we learn about falconry, herding, feed little lambs and try some cheese from Casa da Ovelha. Afterwards, we had lunch at Ristorante Del Pomodoro, which is next to Casa do Tomate and serves wonderful Italian food. Finally, we ended the trip with a tasting of local products at Casa do Tomate.
