You were pretty tough on this gun! I bought my M9A4 October 30th. My barrel was pitted from the breach about an inch into the barrel. Beretta customer service has been horrendous! I paid $1020 for my gun to sit. Its now December 5th and my new barrel is on back order. In my opinion even with all this added headache I am beyond happy with this gun! So many amazing features and comparing this production gun to an LTT gun isnt a fair comparison its more expensive and "semi custom" great video

I tried to be as objective as possible for the cost. At the end of the day it is a great handgun and owning a 92 or another 92 is better than not. No way, I would be pretty bummed out if that happened to me. I hope that they get it situated for you sooner than later. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it though. I agree that it is not a fair comparison. However, I was hoping to speak to a potential buyer that was thinking about purchasing the A4 and then doing a ton of upgrades to it and explain that maybe purchasing the LTT out of the gate would be a better value if the purchaser had the budget to allow that. It wasn’t necessarily supposed to be an apples to apples comparison. As always though I appreciate the comment and support. Keep up with us and let us know how your A4 is shooting when you get your barrel situated!

@@hkrifleworks throw in a heavier recoil spring that will help keep the slides shut for longer so that way you don’t get as much “sand in the face” try a 14lb one. The factory one is 12.5 You could also put in a heavier hammer spring since the slide has to overcome not only the quail spring, but the hammer spring as well, but when it cocks the hammer every time the gun cycles. I ran into the same issue on my 92 FS when I got a threader barrel for it. I couldn’t figure out why I was getting this what it did feel like of the face feeling. It turns out I put a lighter hammer spring to reduce the trigger pull.

Nice video, thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts on the M9A4. I purchased mine in October and watched Berretta’s website for plates. I never saw any RMR plates in stock. I finally got their code via email in February, and by this point , Berretta removed the RMR plate from their website completely. So I settled for a free vortex plate. It took about a week after I finally got the code and placed the order. Maybe I’ll keep watching the website. Just a note, I bought an FN-45 shortly after getting the M9A4, and it came with hardware for just about every red dot available, and the plates do sit down flush in the slide.

Try using your fixed barrel spacer instead of the booster spring to get rid of that debris coming back into your face. When I did that on my M9A1/Gemtech Tundra it solved that problem and made it quieter as well. It's not the open slide that is allowing that to happen. It's the decoupler in the suppressor. It's not noticed on the tilting barrel pistols as all that stuff is angled downward by the time it's coming out. I hope that works for you and I like the video you put up. I'm not sure about a red dot on mine yet but I'll probably go with the LTT complete drop in slide if I do as you advised. Your pistol will most likely function fine without the booster as well. Mine cycles with that cheap Aguila 147gr subsonic while using my increased power recoil spring for shooting +P ammo

Thanks for the comment and support man! I have been under the impression that the M9 still needs a booster as the barrel still moves slightly so a piston is the recommended setup as it is just less sensitive than a browning action. Will try it without and hopefully it will mitigate some debris. Fingers crossed it does haha. Question for you. Even though a piston is momentarily decoupling the weight from the end of the barrel, the barrel will still move and tilt to the same degree, right? Since a piston is not changing how long gas remains in the system, wouldn’t the gas travel back down the barrel and come out the ejection port the same?

@@hkrifleworks I just got my plate and mounted mine. It doesn't look half bad with the RMR. I thought I would hate the higher mounted optic, but it makes the dot so easy to find because it's just there. There are no suppressor sights on this earth that would clear the optic. I cannot wait to get it to the range once I get the Toni 92 Muzzle Break and X300 installed to reduce muzzle flip and to stabilise the pistol when aiming. I think people need to be very selective with optics for this pistol. The Acro and DPP sit way too high. The SRO overhangs over the ejection port which may interfere with ejection. Plus the SRO is a little too tall thanks to the larger window. I think the short base and short profile of the RMR or anything with similar dimensions would be the only optics suitable, which may not fly with a lot of people.

Gee, your trigger experience is much different than mine. According to my Lyman pull gauge the single action pull is 4.4 lbs. and the double action pull is 7.6 lbs. Equally important the double action pull is smooth and the single action break is clean and crisp. I do agree that the RDO plate service is very poor and the fact that they are selling them rather than sending entitled gun purchasers does not speak well for them. I too had a barrel problem and it took about 6 weeks for them to return it with a new barrel. Additionally I agree that a RDO gun should come with co-witness height sights.

I just purchased an M9A4 in a day ago and it came with 3 FDE colored floor plate magazines, but no RMR plate or card for free plate. Disappointing from Beretta. I've got several M9A3s in different colors to compare the A4 to. The A4 is my first non-Italian made Beretta. Overall, I like the pistol and all the differences from the A3 and it compares well to the quality of the Italian pistols. The trigger feels similar (not exact) to my 92X Performance in terms of reset. I like the color match of the pistol. I like that is a G model (don't know if these also come in a standard safety/decocker model). I do wish these came standard with suppressor height sights though these would prevent the pistol from fitting most holsters. I have suppressor height sights on several other 92s and they won't fit in a standard 92 holster. The suppressor breech blowback on any 92 series pistol is noticeable. But since the barrel doesn't tilt to unlock, it is a superior suppressor host since no booster is needed. Overall, I like the M9A4 and all its new features over the A3 especially the front slide serrations and more aggressive grip checkering. Call me snobbish, but the toughest thing for me to get over is getting used to seeing "MADE IN USA" on the slide.

@hkrifleworks
2 жыл бұрын
On long guns, yes (I run 1.93” - 2.2” unless it’s a precision rifle). With four points of contact (your cheek weld being one) it’s beneficial to have a higher mount for a more heads up shooting position and passive NV use. Not really seeing the point for a high handgun RDO since you can present the handgun in front of your dominant eye properly no matter the height of the optic. The objective downside is you omit irons in almost all cases as well as have a measurably (and unnecessary) taller package. It’s also nicer to me to not have to focus on height over bore offset as much on lower, slide mounted optics when transitioning from close to far targets but that very minor and an easy train around. Maybe I’m spoiled but my trigger was crazy long and heavy on the A4 in DA and like 8lbs in SA. LTT trigger cleaned it wayyyyy up and it’s so much nicer to shoot to me. Not to mention the reset is crazy short now.

How does it compare to a LTT? I had a ltt that i sold. Regret selling it. Looking at buying another one but i was wondering if it was worth the 500$ difference

I’d say it performs well especially with the TJIAB kit. This is just me but if I had a LTT in the past and purchased another non LTT 92 I’d miss the one I regretted selling still. Again, just me though lol

I'm still waiting on mine too. They have had stock of every plate except Trijicon on the online store since early December. The Trijicon plates were sold out in a few days. I emailed them and left a voicemail message in late January to get an ETA but no response. Now in February, they made a brief, less than 24 hour appearance at 1am, so I pounced on it along with a 92 Muzzle Break by Toni Systems, which have also been out of stock for forever and are back on the out of stock status with the Trijicon plates. At this rate, I think most people will just buy the plate. At 30 dollars, it's not going to break the bank.

The way LTT gets the red dot lower is by removing material from the firing pin and firing pin safety. That's not an optimal solution, especially since 92 firing pins have been know to break, and since LTT does not separately sell the milled firing pins. I'd rather haver a higher red dot mounting solution, or forgo a red dot altogether rather than compromise the longevity and durability of the pistol.

Good points of discussion. I’d imagine Ernest and the LTT team have vetted and tested the system well as they have proven make quality products. To what degree would you say the LTT would average a lesser service life than the factory 92 components? Haven’t checked into availability of replacement parts. Would image they’d take care of you if you had a problem but have not personally had to use their customer service

Correct me if I am wrong but is it not the suppressor exhaust that is blowing stuff in your face ? I don't think that's anything to do with 92's just bad design on the suppressor's part .
