I’m gonna be honest Incoming freshman usually don’t have that much control over their classes. It’s not always as simple as just “not taking” a Friday class

Yeah exactly like I was just told by my advisor that i had to take my math class every day, including friday. Monday, wednesday, friday classes are so common too like i wish but we don't control that.

#2 I married my high school boyfriend. I went to college and he went straight to work. We’ve now been together 25 years; married 19. Do not let some random chick on the internet talk you into throwing relationships away for no good reason. People aren’t disposable. If it’s time to end things anyway that’s one thing, but this advice is frankly crap.

Ask for help. How is this not on there? If youre struggling with something and you have an exam soon, don't assume it won't be on the test because IT ALWAYS IS! Ask your professors, ask the people around you, get a group together. It's not high school where you can just not study and still get a good score. If you don't study for a college exam, you're fucked. So throw away your pride for like an hour and ask for help.

not her saying that your shouldn’t date your bf from high school in college like bffr a lot of people end up marrying their high school sweetheart plus imagine saying to your partner “sorry i have to break up with you cuz im going to college” like what that’s so stupid. don’t break up with someone just because you’re going to college if you have a healthy and nontoxic relationship. plus please don’t drink in college and don’t drink period but especially in college. college is a place to learn not to mess around and party, you’ll have time for that afterwards.

Avoid getting a job your first year. You want to be a student full time to make sure you get as many credits as possible and so you can enjoy college life. Apply to scholarships and get a meal plan to support your academics. If you absolutely need to work contact your school about how you can make sure you get all your credits.

A lot of this is awful advice. You don’t necessarily get a choice in your class schedule, especially freshman year. In the working world you don’t just “get fridays off”. Taking even just one class on a Friday keeps you busy and focused on school. And if you’re so quick to dump your boyfriend because of a location change, you’re easily the problem and I hope he finds someone worth his time.

Only time id really make the argument not to bring your bf/gf to college is if they’re going somewhere super far away and you’ll barely ever see each other. When your that distant, someone will inevitably fuck someone else and it will end on bad terms. Better to end it on good terms and not risk the heartbreak. But if your going to the same college, you’ll probably only get closer since your living in the same place. Hell, I know people who met in HS, go to different (nearby) colleges, and im still pretty confident they’ll take it all the way to marriage

@@user-gx7ns6sy9v Yeah. I tend to notice there are 2 main kinds of relationships: the “im only in it for the sex/status” type where its really just prolonged infatuation, and the people that have actual genuine love for each other. Ive seen the second work really well even at long distance, but the first will probably fail because you arent actually that dedicated and have more chance to get with someone else
