Does IXL show anywhere how much time they spend using the program?

Yes it does, in the parent section, under analytics and then "usage" it will show time spent and you can set the date range.

On IXL for the $9.95 per month can you use this for two children as I have an 11 year old going into 6th grade and a 13 year old going into 8th grade. We currently have been spending $269 per child at Mathnasium which is $3200 per year per child at $6400 for the year. For the $269 per month you only get 5 one hour sessions per month. Did you ever use Mathnasium in the past for your children and if so have you found these programs to be more effective? I live in Wisconsin. Thanks, David

I have never used Mathnasium. For me, math is my strong suit so I teach math with a textbook (Dimensions) and then we do some supplemental online programs (IXL for the diagnostics to see which areas we may need to work on). With IXL I would get 2 subscriptions otherwise the recommendations will be off. Even if your children are working at different levels, you won't be able to do the diagnostics arena or the recommendations for skills to work on because they will be all mixed together. If you are looking to supplement then IXL is a good choice. For a full math curriculum, I would recommend something else.

What full Math Curriculum would you recommend that’s not online?

We use dimensions and I do like it although I wish it had a bit more review of previously learned concepts - i like the spiral learning curriculums like Horizons which we used for K - 2. We also use Life of Fred because it's fun and shows how math is used in the real world.
