Nice little filter, though the smaller ones need cleaning more often?

Need advice? Gonna buy this filter for a 40 litre tank. Gonna keep coldwater fish so how often do I need to replace the carbon sponge and bio-media?

aquaneat and/or sunsun brand are cheap and seem to have great features. i believe they have both the sponge and cartridge for small bio media

Does it not blow bubbles in the water? Just got 1 and no bubbles. Past 2 filters have had bubbles. Will this provide oxygen if no bubbles blowing? Thanks 👍

Very interesting filter. My only concern is the gap size for the inlet. Looks like fry and small shrimp could be sucked up. Is that 3 year warranty on the box ?
@EverydayAquarist

Small shrimps might and yes 3 Yr warranty

I ordered this filter without doing much research and it just came and I have a few questions. ●I noticed this filter needs to be submerged quiet abit before pumping water, but does it need to be fully submerged? ●I have a brackish water tank will this work okay with that type of water? In the future I will do far more research before buying filters on sale 😂 Thanks!

I came here to check if the whole thing can be submerged as I’ve never used a filter before and wasn’t sure if the wire sticking out was meant to get fully wet. Looks like yours is totally submerged.

Is the flow suitable for a Betta in a 2.5G? How do you think this would compare to the Oase BioCompact25? I am struggling to find any reviews of that on YT

What makes you think that black sponge is a carbon block? I've never seen carbon in that form ever and I've been doing aquariums for a very long time
@EverydayAquarist

Carbon coated sponges in filters are incredibly common. You can tell because they are more rigid than normal filter sponges. If you Google carbon aquarium sponge you will find many examples

Everywhere I have seen this filter advertised, including Interpet’s own website, this filter is described as having an adjustable flow rate - is this correct? I have a Betta in the Aqua One Betta Haven tank, but the filter that came with that tank is pretty poor. I’ve upgraded to one that is far too powerful for the tank and he is struggling to swim around happily and is now sitting on the bottom of the tank. Can you recommend any nano filters with either a low or adjustable flow rate?
@EverydayAquarist

This one is OK it has a nozzle to move the flow, otherwise the Hidom filter is pretty easy going on flow, I have a video on that one as well
