On Saturday morning, a text from Jeff Douglas, the engineer out of Argos on the Elkhart and Western, read that they would be making a rare weekend run north to Plymouth and back to fetch a few cars that NS needed. I had never shot the E&W before, so it was a no brainer for me to go out and document the run. However, I messed around with the other railroads too long, and I only got to see the train coming back south into Argos. Regardless, I was able to get some shots that I was happy with. I was also accompanied by my friend Ethan Hopper (check out his channel at NSGP60) for the trip as well.
The PREX 2045 which was on the rear of the train, then trailing back to the yard, was to be shipped off to the Napoleon Defiance and Western Railroad in the coming weeks after this video was taken. It still remains on the ND&W property to this day. The 1600 I believe is now located on the Monticello portion of the E&W. It is unknown what will become of these units as Patriot Rail begins to creep into the operations of the former Pioneer Lines.
Enjoy!
