Just recently bought a 10kg weighted blanket despite being dubious about them in the past. And wow what a game changer. I can actually feel the endorphins filling my body as I lie under it. It feels just like a big loving protective hug from your mother when you're little.

I have been listening to this podcast almost every night. It's called Nothing Much Happens. Kathryn Nicolai has an incredibly relaxing voice and tells stories that are soothing and...not particularly interesting. Many nights I don't get past her introduction, which is the same in all the podcasts so they're relaxing too. Give it a try. It's worked wonders for me.

(SEE MY REVIEW IN THE REPLY BELOW) Thank you so much for this topic! I immediately ordered the Nasalaid, because so many nights I would be congested and I thought I wish there was something that could keep my nose open! I knew if I could keep my nose tipped up slightly, it made a huge difference in the amount of air that would pass through. I rarely buy gadgets or pills, but this looks like a winner for me! 😴😴😴

As a follow up to my original post. This little device is wonderful. I definitely get more airflow through the nostrils. In fact, the more congested I am, the bigger difference it makes. My sleep doctor told me after about 5 hours of sleep, my breathing passages narrow thus interrupting my sleep cycle and a CPAP was ordered. However, with Nasil aid I have been getting 7 or 8 hours uninterrupted. 5 stars!

Comment: if you're a side sleeper, try the Manta mask specifically for side sleepers. I ordered the original before realizing they had a specific mask for side sleepers and it's NOT 100% light blocking, no matter where I position the eye cups. Plus the big eye cups make it kind of wonky feeling when I sleep on my (preferred) left side. I ended up getting a different sleep mask for $15 online that works better for me. Question: does anyone know if you already wear glasses, is there a good blue blocker clip on that I can get? Thank you!

I’ve experimented with a number of different products to help me sleep. Weighted blankets are great so long as you get a cool cover like one made out of bamboo. Though, they’re meant for sleeping on your back in my opinion. And, I’ve used a massage gun to help alleviate anxiety-induced muscle tension in my back, neck, shoulder, and forearm muscles. Other products I’ve used are wireless sleephones, an essential oil diffuser, and a white noise machine. I’ve had the best results with products that focus on physical stimulation like the first two products I mentioned. And I think that acupuncture mat might help a lot as well. And I’m wondering if a massage mat would be worth looking into also. Lastly, one of the videos you made about forcing yourself to think positive thoughts, like making a list of things in your life that you’re grateful for, has really helped as well.

The one issue I had with the manta mask, and other masks like it, is that it puts a slight pressure on your sinuses due to where I have to have the pads. Sensitive sinuses run in my family so I can't have anything pressing on my cheeks or forehead or I get motion sickness. I did love this mask since it put no pressure on my eyes, and it was super comfy for a side-sleeper.

Good point about the melatonin. Almost all of the products are WAY over-dosed. Less is more! Ideally you should take 0.5 mg or less about 4 hours before your desired bedtime. PS. the manta mask link you have is wrong in the description. it's "mantasleep" not "manta".

Therapy in a Nutshell, I feel like venting does help me process emotions. Perhaps we are using the same word for different concepts. For instance, Nat-Nat views venting as yelling. Some of these products are effective. It’s helpful to know about them. However, the versions linked to are sold by lifestyle companies that charge exorbitant prices! $50 for a nasal dilator? $80 for a buckwheat hull eyebag?! That’s double what the product should cost even for organic materials. Compare: I bought a buckwheat hull filled eyebag with a silk case for about $15 from my yoga studio. (In fact, these aren’t hard to make yourself.) Please look for more reasonably priced sources and makers of these products. Your intention is no doubt good, but it doesn’t feel right to see help touted that only the wealthy - or the desperate - can afford.
