I do this same thing specifically using a hydrating foundation and concealer, but then my nose is a different story - it always seems to need powder, as do the hollows of my cheeks; so afterwards, I then follow with a translucent loose setting powder in the exact same way: spray sponge (I use the flat end), then cover it with loose powder and dab it on the back of my hand until there is NO more powder transferring, then PRESS the sponge around my nose and cheek hollows and give it a tiny wiggle. 😁 I've found this leaves me with the least amount of transfer, now the same as the rest of my face! YAY! 42 y.o. normal to dry skin, except my nose which is still a mystery to me. LOL

I love that you tie your hair back when you apply skincare and makeup. So many KZitemrs leave their hair hanging by their faces which always slightly irritates me as I want every strand of hair out of the way when I’m working on my face. Ooh, what a great idea! Using the setting spray keeps my under eye area looking smooth all day, but by the end of the day it felt tight and rather dry. Great tip! I tried it after seeing Risa’s video about it recently, and it definitely helped. I just turned 55, and have always received compliments on my skin, BUT since around 40-45ish my under eye darkness has been a major issue for me. I pretty much watch every single video on the topic, and buy every single product ever mentioned. Yet I do not remember seeing this particular hack. I have dry skin, so I am concerned about putting anything especially drying under my eyes, but I only wear make up a couple times a week, so I am not too worried about it. But tapping in a bit of setting spray and then lightly dusting with powder is the only way I have found that I CAN use any powder under my eyes without it looking cakey.

So, I have a story for you....I work in a hospital with patients dealing with mental illnesses and the other day, I wore my contacts to work instead of my glasses so I decided to put on eye liner, mascara and eye brow product but did not put on under eye concealer. At work, a patient told me that I looked like I had a black eye!! 🤨She’s never said that before so apparently wearing contacts brings out my very apparent dark circles under my eyes!! 🙁 lol.

I have tried this for a few days now. I have used both the Maybeline age rewind, and also the Milani conceal and perfect and the upper middle pan from my ghost pallet by Hourglass. This little hacked worked great for me!!! I have very dark circles under my eyes, puffiness ( from allergies ) and those little fine lines around the corners. The Laura Mercier powerder does NOT work for me!!!!! I look like the crept keeper when I use that product!!!! For me....it definitely helped my under eye area look a little smoother. This might not be something I will do everyday, but if I'm not running behind, I'll sure be taking the extra minute or two to do it!!!

I saw Risa's video and was so excited to try it b/c even following your under eye instructions, I still get creasing. And seriously, I'm hardly using any product! Anyhow, the first time I tried it, it worked ok but there was still very slight creasing by the end of the day. The other 2 times I tried it, it didn't make any difference. And I had the same problem as you when I tried it with the elf hydrating concealer, it pulled some of the product up. I didn't reapply, but I still had creasing! And I used the Laura mercier powder as well. On another note, I tried the tip on my t zone, only I sprayed the area rather than tapped it on, then applied my powder and it kept my t zone more in tact and less shiny.

This is by far not a new hack we've been doing this for YEARS in pro artistry.... and it of course is NOT an everyday practical application process, you are 💯% correct find the right concealer for YOUR under eye and you will be golden. Now where this will come into everyday makeup is if you find the liquid concealer you have is NOT working for you wether it's too matte to creamy etc etc it is a great way not only to set and add longevity but sometimes to help the blend as you probably experienced when you added the spray to you sponge added a little more concealer and blended to fix the patchiness the spray left when you initially laid it down w/your finger ❤️✨

Definitely smoother! Check-in minimal difference. I use the Laura Mercier Under Eye Brightening Powder. Have you used that one? just wondering if there is a difference. I purchased the Revolution Prime & Lock (I think that's what it's called) for the lid, but I find it rather emollient it doesn't seem to set a lot, so I'm using a tiny bit under my eye and then my concealer with a smidge of powder not sure if it's working as far as my concealer not creasing, but just thought I would use up the product some how. I'll try the hack though!

Tried this with Armani Stretch concealer,Milani Make It Dewy setting spray,By Terry hylauronic setting powder and the look is fabulous, really eliminated creasing. I’m 70 with few under eye wrinkles however do smile a lot and get those little horizontal creases. Alcohol is about halfway down on the list of ingredients in the setting spray so I understand your drying concern., I use a teeny amount after the under eye has dried down and by golly am very pleased with the results.

I tried this method from Risa´s video and it worked wonderfully on me! I´m 35 and I have a few lines trying to show up and sort of a "fold" right underneath both eyes and for that there is nothing to do, but for the rest it did worked really well. I apply my concealer, then apply a little bit of the setting spray and tap, tap, tap, give a minute to dry, and then I use the sponge just to go over, apply very little powder and voilá! Now, the setting spray I use is not so matte, it´s supposed to give you a natural look, maybe that´s the reason is working for me? I don´t know.

Doesn't crease, doesn't flake, looks good all day. That said - I'm much older than you - perhaps its better on a more mature eye? I saw this hack yesterday on you tube and tried it out today. I had a no make up make up day so only wore mascara and a little bronzer but used the CT colour corrector which is great as it covers my darkness but does not enhance my eye bags however it only lasts 3-4 hours normally even when I use setting powder before it has disappeared and or sunk into all the lines. So today with the setting spray hack it is still in place and looking pretty good 10 hours later. I am going to try it tomorrow with my Tarte shape tape.

Gemma, when you put the setting spray on the hydrating concealer, that's what concealer looks like on me all the time. It just breaks up and cracks while I'm putting it on! I have tried many concealers, moisturizers, application methods... What eye moisturizer do you recommend? I'm 66 with dry skin.

I recommend using your normal face cream...you don't need a special cream for under the eye xxx

I have been following Risa for several years but it is important to note that she is an oily girl and I expect she can tolerate the alcohol in setting sprays better than some of us. My face is pretty oily but not under my eyes. I have started using setting spray before finishing powder on my face and it is definitely smoother but like you, I will be sticking to the LM setting powder for my undereye concealer. Better to pat it in occasionally than to have flakes under my eyes.

I couldn't use something that would/could dry my under eye but I have used an undereye cream on top of my concealer. Just use a finger and tap it across.

Sorry, looks the same to me. Is it just the lighting or do the dark areas still peek through the camo and foundation?
