Great video HOD, and something that so many people don't seem to do or even realise. I've already done the same thing in mine with the raised ceilings to seal the upper level of cables, but one thing I discovered is that if you raise the ceilings from one pillar only and then hang pillars from the raised ceilngs to cover the rest of your vertical cables, the ceiling is still only supported by the initial pillar that it was raised from. Essentially an entire floor of ceilings supported by one pillar. They only way to solve this really is to do the raising of ceilings at every pillar so that it has a lot of support locations, not just the one.
@HOD
7 жыл бұрын
ah yeah good to know thanks for the tip! do you know if you build the pillars up from the ground if they support it?
@HOD
7 жыл бұрын
so i guess essentially you have to raise each pillar and do the same thing across the board manually
@davidnewton93
7 жыл бұрын
Yep that's what I did. They don't need the standard pillar support every 2 squares but every pillar that is raised is another they have to destroy to level the whole floor. Honestly, while it saves more space to do the raised pillars, I feel like just making a standard 1 wall gap would be a little safer. I always assumed the raised ceilings would be held up by the walls they are against, but because they're not at a standard snap point, theyre not. I found that out the hard way and lost a whole floor of ceilings haha

I think it would be a very bad idea to have your crafting stations, vaults, etc on a raised ceiling because if that one pillar goes you lose it all.

nice video hodo. this helps alot i mean if you value your base you put hard work into this extra step helps a ton. yeah its heavier on metal but more protection from have muti ceiling and safe cables. cant beat that man!

I achieve a similar verticable protection using the foundation splitting wall technique, it allowed me to secure both electric cables and water pipes in the same manner. ;)

Hey hod i noticed on this vid that after u lowered ur first foundation u started blindly snaping cables under the foundations I've found its its easyer to get one lowered foundation then eork the cables out first saves the blind snaps

Great video Hod, not sure if you remember me but we were playing on the same server and me and elementals were kinda allied, I was part of the gypsy king tribe when elementals built that huge base in the valley. I forget the server name but those guys don't really play the game anymore so I've kinda been soloing on other maps, I don't really know any scorched servers but I'd love to play scorched again, so if you know any good scorched servers or you guys would want another tribe member I was probably the most active In that tribe when we played and I was usually the one who would be taming all the wyvvs and eles and I'd be doing that solo most of the time

Brilliant ideas mate, I've learned a lot of tricks to help improve my builds and counter PvP. Huge fan of the grapple hook and layered builds. I play on Xbox and the turrets on fence foundations or giant hatch frames wont snap, nor will a vault snap on a ceiling when trying to drop a vault over a Genny for a pillbox.

Is it just me, or did they fix the hidden cable in the ceiling?
I see how this guide is good, but really. Why do we need to have to micromanage the flooring just to place a generator and get power. I have a Wind Turbine, its 2021. I am trying to connect it to a electrical light. I have used all the different cables, nodes etc. This is just a joke really. Even NMS can connect power easy... Thats saying something.
