Beth Morrison is the mother of Calum, who was subject to a physical restraint at his school. Finding that little was done about what was done to her son, Beth has campaigned over a number of years to raise the issue of child restraint in Scottish schools and to call for guidelines and legislation that will reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of restraint. Her work has attracted the attention of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and all of the UK's Children's Commissioners.
Interviewed at BILD's 2016 PBS International Research and Practice Conference, Beth talks about her delight in being presented with an award by BILD for her campaign work, and about why Positive Behaviour Support is the right approach for schools to adopt.
