Professor Don Kincaid of the University of South Florida, interviewed at a BILD PBS conference, talks about the relationship between ABA and PBS, highlighting where there may be differences in approach and methodology between them but pointing out that "there's a lot of growth happened between both schools in the last few years".
He talks about the 'myths' that hold back intensive behavioural support for school students, among them that PBS isn't a 'battle list' of strategies, where you just try one after another, it must be relevant to the quality of life outcomes you want to achieve, and to the environment of that student - you can't do that without an understanding of why the behaviours are occuring in the context of that particular student's life.
Professor Kincaid goes on to talk about who the mentors were who were important to his professional development and the success stories that provide highlights in his own work.
Негізгі бет Don Kincaid - "PBS is not a battle list of strategies."
