Big Rig Dump Trucks racing on Model Railroad & Slot Car HO Racing Layout: Peterbilt 1980 Model 359 dump trucks are Auto World Xtraction Thunderjet slot trucks. HO Scale Trains in video: Illinois Central (IC) Passenger Train with EMD E8A diesel locomotive engines (Lifelike Proto 2000) with eight Illinois Central Passenger Cars (Walthers). These Auto World Big Rig 1980 Peterbilt Model 359 dump trucks were fun to run around the track, they mostly stayed on the track very well. In practice they needed to be driven at lower speed on curves. These Autoworld dump trucks are a little top heavy, so the truck tires did lose contact with the pavement on curves when going too fast. The trucks had nice range of speeds on the Parma controllers, so they could be slow through the curves and also sprint on straightaways. The occasional times the wheels lose contact with the road is when they get bumped by the other vehicle at squeeze track, but also nipped and scuffed on curves since they are kind of big. Video is not at all in order or continuous, the one camera on a tripod was moved around various (10) view angles during the race and the clips were edited and intermingled. Having a model railroad and electric slot cars can be a lot of fun and would say they work well and look good and it is also fun playing around with video. The vehicles get bumped around and crash in this race, but nevertheless came out fine in the end since they are slot cars.
