I know what you mean, Its reassuring even though I know the big compounds do the job, you sometimes think 'oh if I add this or that' Then Big Z sticks to standard compounds with no flashy addons. I have done pause deadlifts before, but only pausing on the way up. I will have to try the double pause up and down like he did. I only ever pause the other way then doing RDL, i never thought of pausing twice on a standard DL lol

Hi Big Z, you have a very nice KZitem channel and give out good advice. I discovered your channel yesterday. You look like you're always in a good mood (positivity). That is inspirational to me. I have many questions, but I will ask just two: Question 1: What exercises do you like to do to improve your grip strength? I'm asking, because I notice you use straps on the deadlifts and rows. Question 2: Do you ever do chin-ups/pull-ups? By the way, I would really like to see a training video of you doing barbell strict press. You are an excellent presser. Greetings from the Netherlands.

I Believe those are 25kg plates, but either way 100kg/120kg is nothing for him. Its the same principle with warming up for benching for example, I've seen Thor and Brian Shaw start with the empty bar to loosen up. Yet I've seen people in a gym put 20kg plates on from the get go. You always have to take the time to prepare the CNS for the demand you are going to place on it.

@@sakispdsw not everyone is from the US and uses lbs. It looks like his largest plates are 25 kg (about 55 pounds) and he also mixes in some 20's which are slightly smaller. So like OP said, it would be nice to know the weights because it is in fact difficult to tell
@sakispdsw

@@maxdejong3790 Lmao fool im not even from the US. Op most likely is , due to his name thats why i wrote it in lbs. Here 2plates on one side 100kg 3 140kg 4 180kg and for each plate more on each side it goes +40kg. Also doubt he has 25kg plates because they looked like normal gym plates to me but i could very well be wrong about that.
@maxdejong3790
4 жыл бұрын
@@sakispdsw I didn't ask whether you're from the US. Big Z certainly isn't, and when using kg plates it is pretty common to use 25 kg which is why I pointed out that you can't assume each plate is 45. Look at 7:15 and you can clearly see he is using two pairs of 25 kg plates

I am a huge fan and think Big Z is by far the best strongman ever. I am first generation of my family not born in Lithuania. By the time I was 20 I was 6'9" and weighed 435lbs all natural. Spent my entire life lifting heavy things for work. I grew up on a ranch and work in the oil and gas industry and a heavy duty mechanic. Lifting barrels of coolant that weigh 600lbs, 3406 Cat cylinder heads that were 660lbs etc. Now at 47 I've had 50 plus surgeries including hip replacement and complete knee repairs as well as a broken back. Take care Big Z, our size and strength will cost in the end.
